Fast Courier Missions / Loadout questions, On the cheap!

Hi folks.

I've been looking for a consistent way to make a small yet reliable stream of income. Low-end courier missions might be a way. I have a Badlander and am thinking of kitting it out to be a fast courier. The load-out would be something like:

-Phoenix Chassis
-4L engine (can't afford anything better)
-Spike dropper
-Rear-mounted MG (for harassment)
-21 armor rear, as little as possible on other locations

I believe that would leave enough room for the smaller courier packages. Would I have a reasonable (or better) chance of success?

Also: any suggestions as to how to reconfigure the Phoenix? I could invest an additional $10K in it, perhaps slightly more.

I don't think you'd make much more than gas cost.

Get good at driving the box van with 5L or 5Lv8(if you can get one)

Put the ol FOJ /HMG on the back and giver'.

If you just want to train up a scout your config is good. Putting armor on sides and even some on the front won't hurt the speed *that* much and will save you in the event of an ambush.

I used pickups for a while, making about $5000 a run ss-elms (the trick is to use a 20 unit tank, and only fill up at SS, where it costs half as much), but I've stopped recently because the gates of elms are just too dangerous.

I'm thinking about switching to phos, but either way - unarmed is the way to go. You can't mount enough weapons to make a difference, and it'll eat into your profits.
