Camp Question

After abortive attempts to branch out of Somerset, I am thinking that joining a camp might be the way to diversify my DW experience. I have read the Wiki, but what I am interested in is:

-What do owners really want as contibutions to a camp (mechs, materials, etc.)?

-What benifits can I get from a camp (labor, products, etc.)?

-Is there a possibility of ending up "for" or "against" some type of faction or gang depending on which camp you join?

Sorry if these questions are lame, just trying to get more info before I delve...

Thanks, Stern

1) Owners needs/wants vary. Best to PM them for details. Sometimes they will list their requirements on the info for the camp, which you can see before joining.

I will say that MOST camp owners require mechs, as that's the one consistent thing you can plan on. Hauling supplies in is VERY helpful too, but having mechs IN CAMP let you plan ahead. :)

2) Depending on the camp, you can get what's being manufactured there free or very cheap. If they're making food/water you can buy it cheap and haul it to town for a profit. You can repair items that are too damaged to repair in town.

3) YES! If you are a member of a camp and that camp is at war with another camp, you can be attacked on the road by members of the warring camp (right now you're safe if your PvP flag is "off" - but look for that to change).

I don't believe factions have anything to do with camp affiliation.

Good luck! :)
