I have two scouts that capped at 73 and 74 repsectively. They are my first caps. I believe both were "bought". Is this standard for characters you pay for? I bought a lot of guys at first, and I am now worried that I have spent a lot of time on guys that will all cap low. I have no idea if I have any originals left, plenty have died, so there's no telling. Is this pretty standard for bought characters or am I just having a bit of bad luck with these two? My sample size is small here, but it's not looking too good with the anecdotal evidence I have so far.

Buying characters just means that they have a higher chance of capping low, I think. Some of your bought characters may not cap until they're in the 200's.

Others may and will say different, but i have paid for guys still training up past 150 so i would say a little bit of bad luck as in low cap for both at same time

Ok, good to hear, I won't radiacally change my gang then. Have to wait and see how it goes. Anyone know if the characters attributes play into it?

If you want an archetype for the impatient player who never waits the whole week to get free characters, I'm your man.
A quick look at my gang page will show many over 100 in at least one skill. I've had three characters cap in the mid-90's and one of them was recruited using 'Best Available Character' and was free. As mentioned above, the chance of a low cap is higher for bought characters, but I think you got unlucky twice in a row ![]() |

Theres no proof for that and I cant remember that paying for member is more penalized than paying for them. Also Ive never heard Sam mentioning something like this... maybe we should ask him?
Early capping chars are still my personal feud with DW, cos I had a bunch of urgently needed scouts that capped shortly after 100 (one after the next one) which took me already many, many months to grind up and forced me to stick to somerset for another 6 months. Very great... |

If it's of any help at all, I have 13 capped characters.
4 are below 100. 5 are from 100-150 4 are from 150-200. Out of 56 characters I also have 5 between 150-200 that are not capped. I have only ever had one character ever break 200. |

My caps...
4: 75 - 100 8: 100 - 150 3: 150 - 200 Most of mine were bought, I have 2 characters above 230 and still going, and one at 190, and several in the 100 - 150 range, still going strong... |

Therein lies the question. I keep track of which ones are frees, but I have only been doing that recently and so far none of those have c[r]apped out. But I don't play as often as many people, so it might be a bit. |
