September 'May' Day wanders into the Weapons Bunker. The eager salesman fiddles with his makeshift tie as he ambles around the counter to greet her. "Hi there! What can I do you for?" he asks, putting on his best smile. 'May' Day continues her slow round among the shop isles without a word. Concerned she might not have seen him, the clerk inches closer, shoving his smile forward. "Nice day out there, isn't it, little lady?" 'May' Day runs a finger along a micromissile launcher displayed under colorful banners, "This one of them MMLs?" she muses. “It sure is! A real beauty! It’s top of the li…” he begins. “They’re garbage”, May answers, “I’ve lost a lot of friends because of those blasted things!” “Ah… Well…” the saleman clears his throat and continues, “We… do have other…” “No... You don’t. You never do.”, Day accuses and, pointing towards the marketplace through the shop’s dusty window, “You know there’s a wasteleand scavenger out there –he doesn’t even have a roof over his stock but his gear is less rusty and run down than yours!” Taken aback by this accusation, the clerk puts on an air of wounded dignity, declaring in a formal tone: “I assure you we only sell the finest goods here at the Bunker! The petty rabble outside would cut your purse and steal back what they sold you!” A snort of laughter escapes September ‘May’ Day, she turns her back to him and walks out the door without another word. “Well that passed the time. Maybe I’ll go for a drink now.”
