not being funny fox but if people cant see who is bidding why would they believe a sudden bid jump like that... the PM bidding thing is a licence to act as your own shill bidder... inflating the price of an auction without ever having a demonstrable bidder.

I should emphasise I am NOT accusing you of this... it just ssems to me that the practice of accepting anonymous bids in a public auction has huge potential for abuse if there is no intermediary.

i would love it if we had a marketplace auction site for rare items where the bidding was automated... possibly acting like the camp auctions

I've thought about the auction webiste quite a bit goat.

I think it should even replace the current marketplace.

If it was all done as an auction there could be a disconnect between buyers and sellers, as follows.

A high supply, low demand item would cause it to work just the way it does now, with sellers posting there wares for the price that they see fit, causing the price of the item to generally drop as the supply increase and the price to rise as the supply decrease.

A high demand, low supply item could be have bids placed on it without there being any available, and someone wishing to sell such an item could go to the marketplace, see who is offering the most money for it, and then sell it to that person through the marketplace, without all this forum legwork.

I like to be able to PM big as I suspect some of my enemies just love to overbid me without wanting the item.

Bloody Hell, what is the reserve?  I hate these games.  2.5 mil.

The car is both worth it, and not worth that kind of money...
It has very odd handling, as in, imagine driving a car with super acceleration, and very good grip, but it will lose grip at the drop of a hat, and spin out badly...

Oh, and it ALWAYS oversteers, always, the ghost lies to you almost every single time at higher speeds, but if you expect the ghost to lie to much you understeer instead!

Oh, lastly, another funny thing about it is, if you point the steering wheel straight, it will almost always straighten itself out in a matter of seconds without having to manually countersteer to much, breakig any drift or so, countersteering with this vehicle really will just turn your car in the other direction... in the middle of drifting :stare:, you have to force it around cornerns, since it wont natrually drift...

Some of that may change while on different surfices and stuff, but theres really no other cars like it in the game, so its either kinda broken or pretty damn uniqe...

Still fun as hell to drive :D

^I don't believe I ever had a race (mostly against you anyway hehe) where the ghost didn't lie to me 50% of the time, even with a 160ish driver.

I use a RR as a scout car. Its very fun, and its the most unique looking car in the game IMHO. I havent had any issues driving it. FF, might you be drinking hand sanitizer again?

Might had, but thats just my experience with the car.
Then again, I should add that most of that relates to driving it with a 5lv12, and way over 120mph, never used one in the wilds to much (aside from joyriding on the dunes)

I've only taken out a roadrunner onto the track twice that I can remember, but I found it great fun to drive.  The point about it auto-correcting is spot on - this chassis really wants to go in a straight line.

Guess I’m one of the few racers that hates the car, no matter what driver skill the character has the ghost lies most of the time. When I drive the car, the word Fun is not the f word I use when tying to control that chassis. ;)

Not to long me and Joel were in a RR race, Joel lost one of his drivers trying to control that funky car and he was only going about 120mph. Sure the cars “fun” to drive if you don’t value the character driving it.

It’s also obvious the car is hard to keep control of when you see the lap records it posts, even by vets drivers.

Also, the car is mainly rare because camp owners know that it’s better to build Mckenzies and Devilles as they bring is far more cash and are far more useful in every way than a goofy driving road runner. So the number produced stays small, which artificially inflates their rarity. It's more of collecters car than anything else as you won’t see players using them in pro races and have limited uses in the wild.

It is a great car and I did lose my "next one" driver in it.

It's love\hate for me.

Scary to drive fast (in races - I can see it being great in scouts). It's certainly the best in it's class for breaking records though. If your driver lives through the attempt...

Funny, every auction of a car that Longoville has, you always have something negative to say about it Lord F, trying to negate the value of it.

And dont try and say you don't.

If you got a problem with Longoville, maybe its time you step out of SS and fly that Open Pvp flag, or stop trying to de-value our auctions.

In this case, what he says is true, that car is a murderer.

BUT!

It's still helluva fast, has one hell of a grip, and is insanely fun to drive once you get past the initial... err, "Learning curve".

Having a bad day Longo? Every auction you say, can you prove that or are you just ranting?

In any of those auctions, did Africa corps say he was representing Longoville when selling those cars? For all I knew they were from his personal collection.

I don’t

I posted a personal opinion about the Turin and about the Road runner. I’m pretty sure Africa corps has done more than two auctions.

When I replied in Africas auction threads(Turin/Roadrunner), it was only after other players posted their views of the cars, are you saying that only positive reviews/opinions are allowed in Africas auction threads?

If a player posts a personal opinion of the car they are trying to devalue it?

And if I recall, I only posted my views of using a Turin in the wilderness and its strengths and weakness.

If you or Africa have an issue with players posting comments in your auction threads, please post that only bid posts are allowed. Did I post any false information to try and devalue his car? If what I’m posting is true, what’s the problem. some players like the car, some don’t.

An even if you are having a bad day, it’s probably not as bad as my week and I lost my farther in law last week and I’m not here taking it out on you.

You would have had a valid argument if I had posted something like “This car is only worth 50 bucks” or “I would never buy this car and neither should you”

You’re generally a good guy Longo, but you’re overeating and out of line with your comments.

Im not out of line. And I guess I'm just sick of seeing alot of negativity on alot of posts you make, many on threads I have started. This one indirectly affected me. And I think most people know that Fox and I run Longoville.... maybe if ya got outa SS more often you would know that. FWIW sorry to hear of your terrible week.
