Not sure how important having the latest gfx drivers are.
In theory it's always best to have the latest drivers - this seems to be the "techincal support first response" for most games. However, it came to my attention when trying to install the latest 94.24 ForeWare drivers that not all cards are supported. Even if they are listed as supported on the nvidia site!?! The nvidia forums have a lot of bitching about this as many people got caught by it - and it seems to be an issue with many cards. I tried installing 94.24 after experiencing crashes but upon installation it says "compatibale hardware not found" or similar. A bit poo of nvidia to provide a list of supported cards when the relevant inf files aren't included. Anyone know of any workarounds, alternative drivers, solutions? The latest may not be necessary for Darkwind but just thought I'd let ya'll know in case you run into the same problem. |

*latest drivers* is hardly ever the problem anyway, if you troll most game websites for graphics heavy games, unless they are the absolute latest, people tend to find they get better performance out of older drivers, depending on the card.
example: CS:Source runs best if my card has drivers that are two years old... |
