sometimes I see an interesting swatch and wonder, "what does that skin look like?"

What's the easiest way to find out?

unfortunately this functionality doesn't exist.

start the client, type showmodels, then click on the car in the upper left, takes you to a menu where you can look at any of the skins you have in your files. Takes some tinkering to get the one you want as the file names are not always obvious. Be sure to set damage and weapons to "0"

Cheers JS. Anyone think it might be good to set up a 'library' of some of the rarer skins out there - sorted by chassis and with the swatch?

Just to note this will work, but only if you've actually participated in an event with a vehicle that had the skin at some point, and it won't always be clear which swatch matches what skin. Most of them make sense but a few are really hard to make an association.

It has been suggested before to try a listing on the wiki with chassis, swatch, and full vehicle image, but don't think anyone's gotten around to it yet.

Either 'ha ha, got the noobs' or something's broken. This trick does not work.

Worked last time I tried it, which was probably about six weeks ago.

Re: the wiki, I'd do it, but I don't know how much use you all would get out of it. The only thing I've done that I know people consult are the NPC Vehicle tables.

You have to select the car model first, and then the texture. As others have said though, it isn't always obvious which swatch is which texture (or even which car is which mesh).
