hey im new and was wondering how you can create your own paint jobs? do you need a template? my gf is a digital artist and could possibly whip something up for me. | ||

There's a thread with instructions and a ton of suggestions in the forum. Do a little looking and I am sure you will find it quickly. | ||

You need to go to the darkwind install folder > darkwind > data > shapes > vehicles > [whichever car you want to skin]
You then need to edit one of the default skins to make it into your custom one and save it under a different name. |

A back up of that folder is not a bad idea.

I work exclusively from the .jpg files in the 'vehicles' folder. Of course I'm self-taught so I probably do everything the hard way. Anyway, open file, modify extensively, save with new filename is my technique. Quite painful sometimes, actually. ![]() |
