WHo is the software developer for your AV ?
Jeelz Posted Feb 28, 2012, 1:52 am |
Here in Australia we are limited to using garlic oil and white vinegar to keep viruses off our computers. From past discussions with Bast, I believe he is using emulsion v1.3.
Could be he sprayed it on while DW was running - EULA clearly states we need to get off our peddle-bike dynamo and let the computer power down before giving it a squirt. |

My anti-virus warned me when I first ran the self-extracting game file. Something about "malformed archives". The zip file doesn't seem to have this problem.

Most AV services will offer a positive-negative check - you send them the file their software heuristically got arsey about, and they double check everything is fine - also they will then add that file to their system as ok.
I use Avast (free) and I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials to anyone with a pukka copy of Windows. |

This is the least intrusive while being able to deal with new viri before others do. It is what a lot of corporations use. It's free for 60 or 90 days if you want to install protection. The java web applet is free to use any time. If the URL doesn't work then that is either because you have included www in the address, or your infected by virus that blocks the site. It does report that AOL s a malicious program which may harm your computer, which is pretty accurate. |

Having massive problems trying to reinstall the client atm.
I noticed that the client software has no digital signature...this is probably worth doing to avoid antimalware and auto firewall rules interfering with installs and generally making DW seem suspicious. |
