Installed Windows 8 and now I can't get Darkwind to work.
I get the MSVC whatever complaint (downloaded C++ and that didn't help). Reinstalled and that didn't help. The farthest I've gotten is logging on and then getting a message that says there's an error allocating virtual memory. Any insights? Anyone running under Windows 8? |

Seems to be working now. Not sure if this is what did it, but I added C++ 32 bit (already had 64 bit) |

Win 8 = pure garbage for a laptop or desktop... also way too restrictive... |

I'm pretty sure Darkwind is a 32 bit game anyway? May have had something to do with it. |

it's not 16 bit? Maybe if everyone puts in their 2 bits worth, it will add up. ![]() |

Now the game regularly crashes after an event. Anyone have a fix for that? |

Having the same problem. Windows 8, and game client crashes after ending any event. |

It does that on all operating systems to varying degrees |

Oddly, my client crashes less often now. Didn't do anything I know of. |
