well... here are my 4 best suggestions for tweaks... can we agree these two

*goat starer*

Posted Jul 1, 2013, 12:43 pm
2 for the more advanced players... 2 for newer players.

1. slightly increase ammo looting ... make the Salvager spec increase ammo finds

2. make hero points used in town give the following - rarer ammo, weapons and chassis you cant get in game (in line with finding stuff in town shops.. eg ospreys ain't gonna spawn in ss)

3. make advertising for missions possible for small Hand gun ammo, fuel, foood, water or mg rewards

4. change mech requirements so that v8s, very dameged items etc need higher mechs to repair and also require plastics / eps

YEP- I totally agree 100% with all of the above.

Good work Goat, and everyone else who has contributed- hope to see these implemented soon.
Cheers.

I'm for that 100% also

sounds like a good no gripping fix to 90% of the issues

I agree 90% (I HAVE to be different), don't like the idea of RAISING mech requirements as I can't get to 50 nevermind higher...:) BUT I will not complain.

I do like the idea of needing plastics, etc to repair them and stuff though.

I LOVE the idea of the salvager spec increasing ammo finds.

I don't know how the current hero points work in scav, but I can say I would like to see changes in normal so I can only think that changes in scav are needed.

i will take that as an agreement... since making it require higher mechs to repair more esoteric items wont affect you in any case until we find you a buzzer.. and then i will repair it for you with my 250 mech B)

SHOW OFF!

;)

But seriously..... I think that the 4 suggestions Goat has put forward, will enhance the SCAV experience without detracting too much from the 'harshness' of SCAV (which is why most of us Scavers play it)

If all us regular Scavers post a YEA, or NAY to the above 4 suggestions, it would be helpful to know if we are all singing from the same hymn sheet?

After all. because there are so few dedicated of us- i don't think anything should be decided unless we are all in agreement.

YEA- from me.

Sounds good to me too. Don't think I can consider myself a regular scavver, but I do still dabble.

Yea

Definatly a YEA! From me.

Especially if I can keep Goat to his word about getting me a buzzer and repairing it for me...:)

Yea from me, also, even tho over half my gang is and has been dying of thirst for 3 weeks due to the serious lack of enough water in either event prizes or in scouts. I have loads of food and enough of everything else to get by, but water is always lacking. Would love to see this addressed as well. Yet another large hurdle for a starting scaver to overcome.

I also vote Yes. Though Hand ammo isnt too useful as a courier item. But better than not having one at all. And anything else would unbalance things.

Personally id rather see the payment be oriented towards the town's specialty. Elms/water, SS/food, GW-BL/ammo, TX/fuel, FL/handguns, SV/scrap, SF/cp.

But im sure thats more work to impliment than it would be worth. No one would run SV for scrap anyway.

Good.job on list Goat

Good ideas goat!

A guy in the lobby said he was talking to a camp mate who said that his best friend who was playing heard from another player that Sam was going to fix this right away.

Well maybe in the fall when school is back in session and he gets his DW itch back.

You have my support.

I am still a noob in DW and only dabble with my scav gang, but making 'useful' ammo and fuel a little easier to access will help alot.

This just came to my mind....when you scrap a car all you get is scrap metal (not complaining just pointing it out.) and I was thinking would it make sense to also get car parts?

Especially if you "trash" an engine? Just a thought.

There really should be a shared scav camp. But that would makw gerting cool stuff easier. Although it is real hard getting enough mechs in scav to even make anything cool... But thats a suggestion for the future I expect

this would have been my point 5

you should get car parts and scrap the same as you get looting in the wild

Two years on and this hasn't happened, as far as I'm aware.

Sorry to necro, but this needs to be kept at the forefront.

Update on the 4 original tweaks goat posted

1) The ability to loot more ammo has been slightly increased and rarer ammo has a slight chance to be found as well. Salvager spec has no effect on this increase.

3) Missions do have more variety of payments offered. Currently in SS, medicines, food, water, ped ammo and weapon ammo are listed. Fuel also can be offered, but I have only seen that in GW.

2, 4 & possible 5) Still not changed but is on the "to do" list.

I admit I'm still fairly new at this, but at the moment, I have no reason to Subscribe. I only play Scav, and most of the benefits of subbing either don't apply or have little effect for Scavs.

- limited to 10 cars in the garage. Scavs can't buy cars anyways, and if a Scav gang has accumulated more than 10 good cars, they don't usually need to buy one anyways.
- limited to 15 gang members. I'm not sure if I've run into a Scav gang with even 15 members to their name. Not being able to pay to recruit sooner, limited to once every 5 days, attrition tends to wear them down as fast as they can be recruited. 13 is the largest I've ever been.
- join camps. Doesn't apply
- acquire Chrome. Can't spend it except on skins.
- Travel south. This is the only benefit the Scavs can use.

Improved training speed in events is a big one that you're leaving out, TMO. I was wondering why I've been able to train several guys to 50 mech (then get them killed) while you were working on your first pair. ;)

Scavs don't have access to training though.

That is one I forgot to include.  Also the ability to request events in towns other than Somerset, which is one Scavs can definitely use, if they leave Somerset.

Which is one thing I don't know - how many Scav gangs are operating in
* Somerset only
* non-SS northern towns
* southern towns

X Man I believe prefers to operate out of Gateway, but I don't know about the others.

I mostly only see Scavs in Somerset, but I'm solely inside SS at this time, so I wouldn't run into them elsewhere.

PS - also, my gang's propensity toward losing all their advanced gangers is another reason I've been so slow getting to 50 Mech. ;)

I was in shanty... Now in gw but x is ruining the rep... I'm going bAk to shanty soon.

My gang is at its smallest in ages... About 20

I would hav to b limited to 10 chassis to be ok... I have 12 bpus!

Should I have said skill gain instead of training speed?

I'll move from SS when I can. It's awfully hard to stock up enough ammo to make it happen, though.

I didn't realize skill gain was increased by being a sub.  That is a major bonus for subbing if true, and a good reason for scavs to do so.

Something to spend Chrome on might be a nice addition, but most Scav players also play normal, and are quite happy to spend their Chrome on that gang.
