A couple of random questions

Hi all, I'm a relative newbie that's a long time CW fan, and a couple of weeks of playing have left me with a couple of questions.

- what exactly is the downside of not subscribing now? - it seems that many of the things that subscribing should allow me to do I can do anyhow? I don't mind shelling out for a game I enjoy, but it would be good to understand how the experience will change.

- accuracy descriptions. It's difficult to figure out what might be optimum ranges particularly for single shot weapons like rockets. I think the HR is described as vpoor short range and vgood long. Does this mean that base accuracy is poor, but it doesn't drop much with range, or that the chance to hit is actually better at longer ranges. With multi shot weapons a nebulous understanding is fine, but when I only have one pop I want to pick the range where I have the max chance to hit!

Thx

Hey, welcome to Darkwind. I don't play much nowadays myself so I can't answer your questions. Mostly I just sit around and watch my gangers take drugs. :)

When your gangers are starting to hit 70 and 100 in skills and picking up their second specs you'll want to hit southern towns for rare loot, lasers, camps, whatnot. Only subscribers can get there I believe. I like to subscribe when I'm not broke just because I want Sam to be rewarded for all the good memories - and there are a lot.

I think the thing about heavy rockets is you don't get a sustained fire bonus, so if it's true you get a good long range start it's mitigated. I know the first 1 or 2 or 3 shots with anything are going to go wide. Si I dunno. Anyways, have fun. See you out there.
