OK I've gotten the basics, can just about scout alone. How do I get involved in camps? | ||

As a new player, owning one would be unlikely due to the high cost (multi million dollar purchase). Start off by requesting membership to a local camp around the SS area. Once approved, you can help with running supplies and materials to camp to help with production of goods (chassis, engines or weapons).
You can help with scouting or camp camp defenses which keep the camps fame up. That in turn helps the camps ability to produce better items. Each camp owner may have their own requirements to what they expect from a new member. So ask around and see which camp and owner best suits your needs as well as theirs. |

It's worth bearing in mind that there's a hidden bonus
If you join a camp quite near a town you can make multiple runs per day - each travel having a chance of training scour skill |

Make sure you check out Breakdown of loot on the wiki page.
Crappy (any really) tyres can be broken down to plastics if the camp has a plastics plant. Start collecting broken engines and weapons. Mainly ones that will breakdown into electronic parts (ep's). Some camp owners have enough car part's (cp's), ep's?, scrap, food and water to meet the camp needs. So be sure to ask if anything is required. Maybe the camp owner needs some ammo or tyres taken to camp. The BIGGEST thing required is MECHANICS. Preferably with high skill to stay/work at camp, which will contribute to making the camps overall mechanic rating (MR) higher so better things can be built. Check out manufacture on wiki home page for MR. Higher MR also gives more workshop points, which means more free repairs. And could mean you could have a scouting squad at camp (check with the owner), a great way to keep the camp supplied with parts. So get training your mechanics! Make sure if you are doing a scout to assign a lead mechanic. The lower the skill, the larger the point gain in most case's depending on the scout/battle. |
