Wait, JD Basher died? | ||
*StCrispin* ce.services.mh@gmail.com Posted Feb 21, 2017, 3:35 am |
Unless it's a different JD. Last I had heard from him was a couple/few years ago and he has suffered a heart attack that nearly took him. I hadn't seen him around after that. But according to Boon he still chatted on Facebook. If it's the same JD, I am saddened. He was a good guy and truly cared about DW and it's players.

R.I.P. JD, you will always be remembered at the start of each scout.
*sam* Posted Feb 21, 2017, 10:15 am |
Yeah, I've seen it confirmed on his FB page. :-(
RIP JD, a really nice guy and a big part of DW in the early days. I'm thinking we should put a tombstone for him in one of the early maps. Perhaps the Dirt Racing Track ? |

Gawd I love this community. I remember when JD had a heart attack while we where playing. I felt so helpless. I didn't know who to call as I didn't have any idea where he was. Great guy. He'll be missed.

I haven't played in a long time but I would be willing to offer up some Larrys or run a scout or pussycat.

Looking at JD's Facebook page under "about," he had posted a ton of stuff about his thoughts on life and other things. One thing that stuck out that I thought would be great and appropriate to repost here -
To my family and friends: "Thank you for being part of my life!" -JD Thank you JD. |

So there was talk about a Lorry run in JDs honor, shall we make it happen?
I never had to much of the privalidge to run with him, so where was his home base? Or would it be better to run it out of SS and make it a wilderness encounter? I can supply some Lorries, though they might be alittle beaten up, got a few in Elms that need engines then could be run back. |

What a shame. He was before my time here, But I heard good things from my scouting partners.
RIP JD. May the great journey be filled with a bitchin' lorry armed to the teeth. |

He was here and gone before my time. I have purchased a Mckenzie to donate as a Deathrace prize as a Memorial race if you all would be interested.

For those of you who don't remember JD, or missed out on playing with him, you missed out on gaming with one hell of a good guy.
I was new to DW when I met JD. He was well-established and experienced. He had all the gangers and skills and gear and cars and stuff that one looks at when one is new, and says to oneself, "Whoa, I sure would like a few of those!" He was also unremittingly generous with his time, knowledge, and DW wisdom. It didn't matter if it was a scout, race, or combat, he would cheerfully join in and do everything he could to help keep the rookies alive. He was like some sort of death-dealing salty mother hen who loved muscle cars. His enthusiasm and love for the DW community made my early days in the game even more enjoyable and rewarding than they would have been already. Every community needs more like him. I move to rename a bar or mechanic's shop "JD's." |
