This topic is intended for: —VETERANS TO SHARE THEIR NEGATIVE NEW PLAYER EXPERIENCES —HOW THEY MOVED FORWARD FROM THEM WITHOUT QUITTING —NEW PLAYERS TO ASK ADVICE or TO SEEK MENTORING It’s INTENT: To help new players to progress and evolve rather than quit. WHY: Because new players come in, something happens that they feel is unfair, the vets say “that’s Evan” or whatever, the new player gets mad. Then they quit. Something to consider is that new players have not experienced the grief of loss that vets have, they have not come to a point where they can let go of something greatly valued, and move forward. They see a mountain that is insurmountable and they just got shoved back down. GROUND RULES: —don’t troll (I’ll recognize it since I’m a big troll myself) —when describing a past negative experience with a player, avoid naming them or calling them out unless you both agree to discuss it diplomatically. I don’t want anyone attacking anyone else here. Save that for in-game —don’t come here to whine about things. This is about how we moved (or will move if it’s current) forward.
