in windows vista you may start the darkwind client and it will not update, or download automatically new game engine. This may be due to the fact that your user does not have administrator priviledges to run the darkwind client.
you can right click the icon to start darkwind and select " Run as administrator" OR TO SIMPLY this so you dont have to every single time you play darkwind which can be everyday all day ![]() To configure an application to always run elevated 1. Right-click an application that is not likely to have been assigned an administrative token, such as a word processing application. 2. Click Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab. 3. Under Privilege Level, select Run this program as an administrator, and then click OK. If the Run this program as an administrator option is unavailable, it means that the application is blocked from always running elevated, the application does not require administrative credentials to run, the application is part of the current version of Windows Vista, or you are not logged into the computer as an administrator. Under Privilege Level, select Run this program as an administrator, and then click OK. |

Im having this problem with my new laptop, and I did what you listed, and it still doesnt work. After you click on the DW icon, it totally skips the login box, and goes right to the garage whatever menu window, then to the lobby area where I am obviously not logged in. Any help?
Thanks, Longo |
