Speeding up my laptop for DW

My laptop is new, yet not exactly top of the line. It runs Vista, with an AMD Turion 64 chip (1.9 ghz) and says 1983 in ram (how it derived this number..?) and onboard graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 7000m). I run fine obviously on the internet and in the lobby, but am very laggy in the game itself. Any suggestions to to tweak the options/preferences to make it run smoother? When you get talking about particles etc, I get a bit lost.
Thanks, Longo

Make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers, and also try turning on/off the graphics options: 'disable compiled VAs' and 'force triangles'. Also try both OpenGL and D3D, as one might work better than the other for you.

Reducing draw distance and max. particles are only really last resorts, which reduce the graphical quality in order to boost render speed.

ram should be enough. i run it with a gig of ram and it works fine.

1983 system ram + 64 mB video = +- 2048
i guess vista loses a megabyte :-)

you could check if you can increase video ram in the bios.
To run the game on "high" resolution 64mb isn't enough.
i would up it to 256 Mb
