Hello there. I have a weird situation here and was wondering if there was any know fix for this issue. I've got the Darkwind client open after logging in as normal (name and PW), and it loads up without errors, but now it looks like nothing is happening, at all. I'm sitting in the Darkwind main program container and see the Login/Quit box (with the server messages and account name/PW) but that's it. No error messages and it hasn't changed yet even after restarting the application and just letting it sit a while. Is there some sort of issue on the server side? Or is this patch day or the likes and I didn't know? Any insight would be welcome, I've got a package to deliver! :)

Oh, and hi everyone, first post, great game!

ah-HAH! Isn't that always the way. I try it again and sure enough, it fires off. Congestion maybe? Ah well. Tried around 6:50PM Eastern Time, using windows vista logged in as admin, if it bears investigating and it helps :)

Yeah, it was a lobby outage, sorry about that.

There's a bug that raises its head every couple of months... I think I learned something this time though so will hopefully be able to fix it.

I spent some time this morning at this bug, so hopefully when the next lobby outage happens it will only be for a minute or so.

I have also put auto-reconnect code into the client for when the connection to the lobby drops - this could be useful for some people who have reported connection drop problems.

I'm having this exact symptom after trying the client on my laptop at work for the first time (yeah, yeah...I know...just don't tell my boss :) ).

I'm assuming that there isn't a lobby outage...could this be a firewall problem? I'm on our public wireless, and I'm not sure how tightly they have set.

I haven't run the client on this machine before, though, either, so it might be an issue with it.

Any ideas?

That would be my first guess.

Any idea which ports the client uses? I might be able to work a little inside magic with the IT department... :)

I promise I won't sell you out if I go to jail :).
