This might be a noob question, but im drawing a blank, and maybe you guys can help me out.
Issue #1 from the darkwind lobby, there is a recording tab that lets you load up events so that you can watch playbacks. When i open mine all I get is the following... "Querying Server" then nothing else happens... I cant server events, watch anything just that Server message. Issue #2 I have a 88 that i put on my cars, i get a lot cool comments that people like it, but I cant see my 88 at all. Im told it could be a open GL issue. Iv updated all my drivers for my vid card, and still have these issues... Anyone have any suggestions????? Ty |

No idea on #1...
As for #2, sounds like the decal didn't download... look in Darkwind --> Data --> Shapes --> Vehicles --> Decals and see if you have 10107.png If so, delete it and it should download again when you enter one of your own events. If it's not there, email me and I'll email you the file. JL |

I'm guessing it might be a firewall issue. The decals and the recordings querying are both done behind-the-scenes from the DW webserver. Can you make sure that you aren't blocking port 80 for the DW client's use? | ||||

Control Panels -> Windows Firewall (I assume you are using the built-in firewall) -> Exceptions
Add the client application DarkwindClient.exe (?) and set the port to 80 |

Thanks Marrkos.
I was able to add it to Exceptions, but not sure where to set the port... |

This is not a video issue. This is a communication with the server issue. I've thought on this a little bit (following our Lobby Chat), and can't really come up with an easy way to troubleshoot it. It seems like packets are getting dropped somewhere, but I don't have an easy way to verify that.
I would hazard a guess that this is related to the other problem. That either your modem, or your ISP is dropping the packets containing your decal, and so it isn't getting loaded. Not sure what else to do to help you resolve this. ![]() |

Sam and I are pretty sure its a port 80 deal, but i dont know how to open the port
Iv gone to firewall/settings/exeptions/ I added Darkwindclient, and the theres the option of add port/edit/delete. Im thinking its add port... 2 lines appear Name: and Port: I dont know what to put in there... if i put a name in it, all it does is create another exception... Help please anyone??? |

You'd name it whatever you want, Darkwind Port, for example, and you put 80 in the port field.
The name is just something so you know what it is. I would have thought that adding the actual Darkwind Client as an exception would have signaled the firewall to open any port the application asks for. Of course, the easy way to test this is to turn off your firewall completely and try to view the recordings. Turn it back on afterwards, of course. |

I have even opened up all my ports on my router and machine to ensure that no firewall was blocking anything and the issue persists.
Maybe I can do a Tracert to see if I can get to the server address the Darkwind client is trying to get to on port 80. Anybody know what that is? |

It's possible there's some other contradictory rule in his firewall too? Or some other application that's blocking the port?
No need to do that, your web browser is talking over the exact same port to the exact same server already. |

Not entirely sure this is related however I continue to have a similar problem with my laptop. I still get decal download crashes when a new decal is needed. I eventually managed to narrow the problem down to my mobile broadband ISP. I also don't get to see any trophy or player skins for the same reason.
I use the same machine at home on my wireless network I get no issues at all. The only work-around I have is one Jimmy suggests - though in game I tend to just copy and rename a file after getting its number from the console log to save time and get in to the event. |
