My HDD cranks out some serious rpm's whenever I play events. It sounds like a CD-Rom LOL.

But like I said, ONLY when playing in (or spectating) events in DW.

Anybody else have this happen? It did it on my old pc too.
The old pc was XP, this one is Vista both are Hp's.
Both Navidia graphics

Or is this normal?

Happens to me occasionally when I'm sitting in the lobby.

Laptop? If so - sure it's not your fans?

Think it will be your fans... Darkwind is quite CPU intesive, so fans will spin faster

It's 100% the HDD activity in my situation at least. There's a difference in sound between it and the fans in my computer.

In options via lobby there is a check mark for reducing CPU usage try that

Same with mine, and it's a desktop.  My little HDD LED is lit up constant when it does it. I tried playing with settings on DW and whatnot to no avail.  As long as I'm not the only one hearing things  ;)
