Jiffmann Posted Oct 5, 2009, 1:52 am	Hi folks, Okay, well I signed up and the like today, and right off the bat, I've got a fair few newbie questions. Righty-o. First off, I read the newbie guides that say go race, then deathrace, and work your way up kinda thing. That's great, but there Are no races in Somerset. Maybe I just log on at freakish times, but there are no races for me to compete in at the starter town, thus I can't get any experience. I know, I can make a Custom Event, but that doesn't pay out any money at all, so I'd really rather not risk my gang members for nothing... Don't Scout Alone. Okay, I hear that, but how do you find a squad to scout with? Is it just a case of knowing people so they can invite you to their squad? Again, how on earth does that translate for a newbie who doesn't know anyone?? Do I hang out in the chat until I've made sufficient friend to be allowed to play the game? Cheers anyone who answer my most-probably-thick questions :)
*Longo* Posted Oct 5, 2009, 2:00 am	There should be an event every 10-15 minutes in Somerset. Are you looking at the upcoming events tab or live events? As for scouts, ask in the lobby if anyone is willing to take you out and show you the ropes. DW is a very friendly community.
*Grograt* gary.r.horder@gmail.com Posted Oct 5, 2009, 10:17 am	Welcome to Darkwind Jiffmann, as stated by Longo they should spawn frequently, if you are looking for things to occupy you whilst you wait, viewing a live Scout or event ( race DR combat ) is a great learning tool, viewing a live event ( either click the event in live event list and spectate or right click a members name that is green and join their event ) allows you too talk to the player, ask for advice and generally get the feel of scouting or what the other events are like, you will find we are all very accommodating ( with the very odd exception ) and be only to happy to pass our knowledge on. Scouting is mostly arranged via the lobby chat were all friends here and you are our newest ( creepy smile ).. members will state they are forming a scout...shout out to them asking if you may tag along, you will hardly ever be turned down, alternatively ask yourself, a simple ' New member wants to scout somerset any offers ' will normally get a response. If you have any questions here and the lobby are the places to get the answers members marked with the * are in the lobby to help ease new members in and can always be pm'd by right clicking their name in user list and sending a private message.but the whole community will help. Good luck hopefully you will find some scouters this evening
