Mini League Times

Yes it's that time of the season where Joel gripes about the mini-league set times (currently Eastern Hemisphere Friendly).

I'm not really going to say much about it, I'm just curious how everyone else is liking or disliking the times.

I doubt this poll will affect anything, so people answer honestly and please, only answer IF you WOULD NORMALLY participate in these mini-leagues. (Under the North Evan Circuit Extravaganza Banner)

I'll restate my desire to have none per weekend, but I understand why some want them then, so the occasional league with a weekend date is ok with me.

I simply have more time free during the week than the weekend to play.

Also, you didn't leave an option for earlier times. :cyclops:

What mini-leagues?

When these first come out, I was very keen to participate but they occurred 6am local time (+8GMT). I'm not sure what they are now.

I suggested some alternatives, such as hold every 8 or 12 hrs in a day. But I was shot down because the primary aim of these leagues was for maximum player participation. Ie. If you don't logon during peak period .. stiff sh*t.

I would support any effort to make this more timezone friendly. Oh, and please no comments about the "stupid movement of the sun", etc like last time.

Dude I have no good suggestion for (Australian?) time...

I'm all for a little mix, BigStick. It would be great to have two simultaneous leagues which are identical but you could only participate in one.

Maybe one league similar to how it is now, but all weekdays, or something. And the other on the weekends at a more Eastern Hemisphere-friendly time.

I know that this idea was brought up before but shot down for the reasons BigStick mentioned, but it would make the most players happy for the least amount of effort, I think. Sometimes it seems that some of this game's timed features kill themselves.

There aren't many people joining mini leagues at the current times
Therefore we can't have more leagues at other times
Therefore some people who want to join the leagues can't
Therefore there aren't many people joining mini leagues at the current times

We could always have the timebased desert rally's I sugested (and people forgot), then it woulnt really matter if everyone was there, since a rally is stage based, and based on your time from point to point.

Also, if these leauge events went live just 2 hours later on weekdays, I wouldnt be able to do them anymore.

The leagues are totally unfriendly to those with regular jobs in the USA. Having these races at 4PM is a big stinker, and people on the west coast have them running at 1PM!

The sweet spot for me personally would be pushing the time back so that they fell 2 to 6 hours later than they currently do.

Mage, That would make it impossible for most european players to attend them (Since it would be after midnight for most of us), least you in the US still have a chance.

Wasn't expecting only 2 votes for current times are fine. Interesting.

I actually didn't get to vote as I foolishly hit view results before voting to make sure my first poll was working. I think perhaps a weekend date every week in each mini-league would be best. Personally I think it should be Saturday/sunday, I think there is only one person against that.

I doubt that.

I'll have a look at the mini-leagues and see about pushing one or two into weekend times.

Weekend-only or weekday/weekend like we have occasionally now?

In either case, I hope the one(s) which is/are on the weekend rotate from year to year.

I'm assuming both on the weekend since currently half of them have no weekend date. So that would be no change...

I set the Spring Challenge and Summer Classic to have all of their events on Saturdays and Sundays, does that sound ok? Times of the day unchanged.

For as long as the times aren't changed, I'm good

Sounds good, at least that's two leagues 9-5ers can make possibly. was hoping for each league to have one weekend event and one weekday event each week. I guess the other leagues are during the week?

Wouldn't having one weekday and one weekend event for each league be one of those solutions which is basically ideal for nobody? I would imagine that some people have more time to play on weekends and some on weekdays, the person with equal time seems uncommon. Having leagues exclusive to one or the other makes the most sense to me. (and the most compromising)

ya but you could at least join 2 of the events. You actually have a good shot at winning sometimes. I still think you are the only one that doesn't like weekends, haven't heard anyone else speak up yet.

Mainly because we're the only two talking about which days to play on. . . others have voted for times, etc. In fact, in this poll, only 4 of 11 voted for weekend times.

Anyway, a bigger issue now (for me) is the disparity in DST, putting events an hour later in the states. That's probably almost helpful for you but is a pain for me. C'est la vie. It'll straighten out in a few weeks, methinks.
