Individual "back room" page pops up when you have HPs in a town. The more kills/higher the individual bounty, the better the items.

Because YOU are doing something to protect the town/factions, YOU are offered something exclusively, they don't just lay something rare out on the shelves and go "Gee, I hope a Hero comes along that might want this."

You can allow the points to accumulate, so even folks who only score 1-2 maybe three bounty kills a scout (instead of like me, who gets 15-20 each time) can eventually kill off enough baddies to get that 'special' item.

End of shop grinding. Beginning of reward for effort: huh, what a concept!!

Now do it already I'm tired of posting on this subject when my fix is the BEST.

Is it done yet?

And save your 'imbalance' retorts to this excellent idea. Since nobody freaking PvPs anyways, and the bad guys keep getting nastier (I've actually lost a ganger or two recently, but, never a fight, as usual), it just don't freakin' matter. Lasers for everyone I say!!

Game balance...pfffffffft. Is LIFE balanced? Is the WORLD balanced? (okay, maybe that last one since it keeps spinning in about the same place but even so our arrogance in moving great piles of dirt around and making focussed large heavy spots on a spinning baloon has got to be making some sort of difference in the geometry of the planet but I digress and for crying out loud are you still reading this? Do what I say already!)

Now, if there ever was a mission were there was a Firetruck/Heavy Laser or something like that at stake, it would be extremely hard, something along the lines of...

Ultra High HP Mission: "We were attacked yesterday, one of our militia squads were completely destroyed by those that F****** Bantonville Militia gang, if you are a try ally of our town, help us completely DESTROY them, we know were they setup camp and we are forming a squad but we can only muster 6 combat cars and a Firetruck, and we require your assistance, if you are willing to help us, we will give you this Firetruck, provided it survives the battle, it is extremely valuable, but we value their heads more, it wont be easy, are you with us!?"

Warning, (This mission is difficult, you will be aided by 6 militia combat vehicles, you have to bring a minimum of 6 vehicles of your own, and the squad CR must exceed 3000, you will be facing a squad 1.5x cr more than your own, do not attempt this if you don't think you can handle it, You have been warned!)
That's what I suggested a while back  ;)
I made some modifications to that last one, since the firetruck is the reward, and its under militia control, it means you cant run away, to keep it alive, you'd have to battle the enemy head on, making it extremely difficult when the enemy force is 1.5x stronger than usual.

In any case, i think that before giving potential too good rewards, you need to re-think how you gain HP.

I just fear that a uber player with great cars coming to SS to stock HP and use them, this could be game-breaking.

Somehow, i think great fame player should gain less HP than other, or a cap system.
After all, people don't consider a legendary known gang, as Hero for receiving Bounty. It's rather "normal".
Maybe not in the far south, but in SS it could be the case.

What i really fear when i read some suggestions is that some players use that as a kind of game-breaking system or too-easy system to gain lot of good loot.

After 2 months of earning HP in badlands i have yet to see anything for my efforts more then whats already on market. the ONLY HP items I have seen are normal in shop anyway. I know it was tweaked, but is it right to not have ANYTHING to use ur HP for after hundreds of bounties earned?

I've given up on them months ago.  Either spawn rate is so rare you never get anything or someone is gaming the system and keeping the shops empty.

With less of a player base than even when Sam dialed it back, it seems right to me.

THere is usually 3-4 buzzers getting sold on market at any one time - to any player 3-4 years old here that is rediculous.

I'd much rather see alternatives to the reputation boost you can earn. Places like Gateway or Badland already yield enough rare items from scouting.

depending on my game play (what targets and towns I chose), I get very little useful HPs for town shops,... bribing a faction before going places ain't a bad thing though. Im still working at trying to keep a high bounty while bribing officials at the same time, but the deeper I go in this regard the more I see use in HPs to manipulate fame and rep.

More options could be good. At the moment, any dislike to DRM you get hit pretty hard on the track (car damage, aggressive AI etc) which is cool, I really like it, but theres the situation of new players and getting around that bad rep period, or even any gang that wants to play against the DRM, suffers greatly on the track. Could have per event bribes for HPs, allow the DRM to overlook you for the event if you have bad rep. Of course there could be the chance the bribe fails, and now they are really onto you. "What do you mean my motor was eaten by snakes?"

Other systems (pen and paper) have used "Hero Points" or similarly named "currency" rewards for things other than what they are used for here. Personally i would rather see each character earn these Hero Points and not the gang as a whole.

These points could be put to better use by acting as event modifiers, spent on the fly by the cahraters who have them. Such as if your long time bounty hunting guru happens to get a bad roll and that shot that penetrates his/her armor results in death. A hero point could be spent by that character to reduce that to, say, some critical injury that requires a long hospital stay. Or if incapacitated, spent the point to stay active untill he collapses staggering into town (instead of having to abandon him in the wastes as rat food). Then due to this Heroic (superhuman) exertion he is penalized with a longer recovery time or loses health or some other long term side effect. Of course the earning of these Hero points (or Prestige if you prefer) would probably need to be reworked to be a little harder to get, maybe. Im sure there would be some exploitable downside.

The old uses would also still be available in this manner but the character or charcters with these Hero/Prestige/Influence points would need to be in town to use them in that town, or in the event to influence the DRM...

Just a thought.

Take it with the grain of salt knowlage that i want to see much much more Pedestrian involvement and oportunities. So this suggestion is biased in that manner. More MMORPG elemnts... added to the tactical we now have... equals more fun IMO...

Now on to topic...

Presumably a more seasoned gang would have a higher total hero score then a fresh player. A veteran Player getting his gang wiped out would drop alot on hero score for the whole gang and thus allow them more common hero point items, ones which they would be in more need of at that time, or perhaps hero score would not instantly drop but instead, slowly decay to the new value. Maybe this could lean towards determining what items are available.

It's just Leadership + Courage. Quick way to see who is in contention to be overall gang leader, but perhaps not the best title for the stat.
