The only intact vehicles are a BPU and a buzzer, abandoned by their crews in terror as death rained from above. Car cannon shells tore the V8 Vikings to pieces even as they must have been celebrating a sucessful ambush. He steps back, lighting a cigar with a antique zippo, and turns to inspect the Fire Engine. leaning against the cab Audette takes a deep draught from his hip flask. "she's ok boss" he says, "nearly breached but holding together" "Did better than the Road Lords then", says Ramos, "we lost em right back at the ambush.. car looked like it was disintegrating. Its not good enough. Its our patrol. We should be keeping these guys safe. Send William to see me when we get back". "Rezeaks did Ok though" says Audette. "Led them on a right dance whilst we were dealing with this lot." He looks down to where the Rezeaks crew are winching the Buzzer out of the sand where it had stuck. "Look pretty pleased with their prize to!" "It's too many losses," says Ramos sadly. "Too many friends" As he is speaking both men hear the engine noise. A car is approaching up the desert road, hidden in a shroud of dust. They unsling rifles and motion crews back to their vehicles. "doesnt sound too healthy" says Audette. The engine is misfiring and the vehicle barely making 30 on the road. As it reaches the far side of the canyon and begins its descent the Special Circumstances crew get their first proper view of the approaching car. "F@$* me!!" exclaims Ramos "It's Dot!" The Road Lords Stormer crawls up the hill and grinds to a halt fifty yards from the Fire Engine. SC crew run to open the doors. Dot Burris half falls from the car. She is bleading heavily from a gaping stomach wound. Natasha pushes her way through the concerned crowd, reaching for bandages and morphine. She looks scared, knowing she is no medic. "She was dead," Ramos half chuckles at teh memory of the Stormer dissapearing as rockets and rounds tore into it. "If she makes it back to camp they are gonna be calling her Lazarus!" OOC This is one of the nastiest ambushes i have seen. Its pretty miraculous that we got out at all. Kom had left the game thinking his car and character were dead. I thought they were dead until i noticed the car in the list when processing the return. Worth watching the replay to see a miracle. He doesn't speak a word as he moves gingerly towards the dark, rear corner of the room. The grizzled barmaid, Dot, is the first to speak up. "Major? Major Blackman? Can that really be you?" The puppet hand lifts and swivels to face Dot. It nods, slowly. "But... I thought you died years ago!" The puppet shakes it's head, and a rasping squeak emerges from behind the faceless mask. "Coma. It was like death. It was wonderful. And now, here I am, back with...the living...for now." <OOC: Major Blackman has been in a coma since around May of 2009 and he just got out!
