I've read that general health represents your character's lifespan. Jack Bauer's only 21, and he's already at Good health. Incidentally, he is also blind in one eye. So, is general health related to his blindness, or is it pure coincidence (and bad luck) that he's already starting to wear down at age 21?

Aging and Mileage

It's not really a representation of the lifespan, IMO, at least not directly.  It's more an indication of how hard their life has been, and the effect that has on their overall well-being.

Getting blinded probably affected his Mileage stat (hidden), as would any other unpleasant experiences like fighting in the Arena (because of the radiation poisoning), being involved in lots* of footsquads (more radiation), or any other injuries he might have sustained and recovered from.

I don't suppose, with a name like Jack Bauer, you've been letting him spend a lot of time in the taverns. ;)

What I've noticed from injuring my characters overtime is that every time your character suffers injury (blue text) it chips away at their overall well-being.

In other words, if your character is breaking his limbs and suffering internal injury on a regular basis, he's bound to keep a few scars and infirmities from his hardships.

----

It's also possible your character's overall health will deteriorate rather quickly if he/she is low strenght.

Longo had a Ped combat ganger(no radiation that I no of - or small amount) that was dying in his early 20s just from ped combat wound accumulation.  We was put out of his misery finally by Billy "The Ace" Bishop and did not die of natural causes and probably would have been the first.
