Is it whoever gets the killing shot, or, if you contribute to their death, do you also get the bounty for the pirate?

i think its the last person to injure the guy before he dies..

have seen cases where i got a fatal shot (head explodes sort of thing) but someone else got the bounty because they fired later in the sequence and gave the dude a little scratch before the red text appeared.

but then i have also benefitted from it so goes around comes around
