Quick question about new camps. Some friends and I are poolojg our resources to stand up a camp from scratch. That said, do we pay for a survey to be done and wait for it to go to auction? Not sure of the mechanics involved for a camp "appear". I searched the forum and wiki before coming here but couldn't find it. If someone would be kind enough to explain what we'd need to do to start a camp that'd be great.

That's pretty much it, as I understand it.

You pay for a survey (talk to Sam about where you're looking, size, etc), and the camp comes up for auction.

Note that since it's a public auction, you might not win the camp, even if you paid for the survey fee.

During this process Sam creates the camp site and adds it to the game world. At first the owner only will have access to it, though it will appear on the camp map for everyone (which is how they request membership, etc).

From there the owner can bring in supplies and start construction on various buildings (not sure the actual mechanics of this, but other camp owners can fill that in).
