it does, there is also a dwarf therapist version that run in linux

now I'm resuming with the rotation. I'll try to update it all for 0.31.10 and see if we can manage to happily go ahead with all the bugfixes

here I am, I've just migrated to this fort and the crazy people who live here already named me as their expedition leader. They have that strange spark in the eyes and mutters strange stories about goblins and humans.

I've not figured out anything more of this fort history, but it is relatively new. Despite this, I'm already lost. How did they managed to dig so much in such a short time?

also, I see that most of our skilled worker are way underutilized. We have that huge vein of coal laying where it was dug up, we have no means of defense and the previous leader, disappeared under mysterious circumstances, was starting up a steel industry when we have people fighting with copper picks - oh, and our military consists in five untrained guys.

I'll train some more war dogs while our new recruits gets up in their ranks and gets better equipment. also, all those damn kittens will make nice sets of leather armors for our marksmen (and *kitten bone crossbows* too!)

let's shuffle labors around so we have skilled people smithing and crafting, while everyone else does menial jobs. there is a lot of ore to be smelt and statues/tables/clothes to be produced.

and, if I can't find an hospital, an hospital zone to make. is there a map of this damned fort?

edit:
we have a legendary bone carver, farming all its time. go carve bone you useless scum! now, what bone carving did?

I've found down below the workshop!
there was the intent I think of giving each one their dedicated space for storage to speed up production.

sadly that was wasting too much space so I couldn't add all the secondary production workshops (looms, querns, clothiers, leatherworkers.. there was a lot amiss)

so, I've put up the big working place of hell(tm) to get some space for all the workshops, and then I'll be moving them down below again, starting with the ones that are critical to speed up respecting production chains (crafting/encrusting, for example - or smelting/smithing)

an ambush! curse them!

three ambush party, one surprised our miners that I sent out to carve another entrance for the fort. only one miner survived. then our new axemen iron guard killed them all, with three casualty. a mausoleum is under construction for those great heroes. The captain of the guard was only injured, he will be forever immobilized, but maybe with a crutch will be able to start training recruits.

we need a better system for early ambush detection: I've mandated the creation of some rope and will make a makeshift guard post with chained war dogs.

meanwhile the lone miner will carve an underground path and our mason will create watch towers accessible only from within the fortress.

I'm also crafting crossbow for our watchers to use.

edit:
soon thereafter 20 or so migrants arrived, tanks for our effort in resuming the rock crafting (all the crafter were dead by the time I arrived there)

I hope that everything will be in place in time for the next one...

oh noes! all of a sudden, autum cometh:

only one tower is at the ready, this one

up there is one with unfinished walls and roof,
while more to the sides there are thwo more unfinished towers.

and that is speaking only on one of the sides, the other have none.

there is now a burrow on the finished floors, and a couple archers squad with a schedule that goes like "two in training, four defending the burrow" al year long.

their armor and crossbow are still getting made  :cyclops:

I'll be sending the save later tomorrow.


btw: this is the new entrance:

it can be sealed by the two levers I've noted in the old area (use N for notes) one controls the inner drawbridge, the other lever has to be linked yet to the outer bridges

of the two rooms, one was meant to be a meeting area, the other is a good stockpile which takes from the 'main' stockpile only those goods meant to be traded (stone crafts and totems currently)

Wha' ha' happen' was...

LoSbo, the answer to most of the mysteries you present in your analysis of the fort's state was that the military died in the goblin attack, as did the kitten I chained up outside the front door to lure the goblins in. After almost all the livestock got killed, it made sense to make do with a vast herd of feral kittens.

:D

I believe Wolfsbane is next, unless TheEvilChaos wants to give 'er a go.
