Snow Leopard, 10.6.3

You should be running darkwindLobby.jar which calls DarkwindOSXClientPPC even though you're using an Intel machine. I'm still downloading the 10.6.4 update, so we'll see if that does it. I was able to get on by launching the client directly, however, so I took care of the travel. I'm not sure why the .jar launch is not working for me after the Snow Leopard upgrade, but it isn't. it works on mine, both when I was at .3 and now. when I upgraded to the latest, a java update followed, so check for that also. then I'd suggest to check read/write permission in the darkwind folder and children. also,  try launching the jar from the command line and see if the client crashes or if it's java not starting at all. ......................... vet wv Posted Jul 18, 2010, 8:15 am

I work in technology and when you do "help desk" type activities you always cover the basics first, even if you know the person knows what they're doing. I grabbed the java update along with 10.6.4, so that's not it, and permissions are read & write all around. The login screen comes up fine, it updates the engine fine, it opens the "Game Client is Loading" screen with the car, but it never launches the client. I regularly copy it so I can quickly replace it if there's a problem... When I transferred my user to this new machine I was prompted to install Rosetta right away. I didn't try DW for a short while, so by then it was already installed. *sam* The Salthill Sluggerz Darkwind Guru Renegade Group: Lead Developer Posts: 16,780 Joined: Jan 19, 2006 It's strange that Snow Leopard seems to be reporting to Java that you're using a PowerPC processor. I just checked my own Snow Leopard machine and it's doing the same thing.. although it runs the PPC client quite happily and I have never installed Rosetta. I just did some web searching and it seems that Snow Leopard is the 1st version not to support PPC.. I've been moving away from AppleTalk for a long time, so that was no loss to me, but might be an issue. Preview is much more robust, plus other little things you don't notice till you use them... Overall I'm pleased with it! Have seen no difference with DW, per se, but everything is faster because it's a faster unit and running 64 bit natively.
