Modify the passenger section of the vehicle sheet to show what specialities each character aboard has so you don't have to scroll through every character to make sure you have a scout, first aid, salvager, jury rigger on board.  You could color code it, combat arms could be green, mechanic skills could be blue, first aid could be red and leadership could be black.  I realize this wouldn't help color blind people, but it would help the other 98.7% of us (per NHIS95)

I like the idea, but it could get problematic for characters with 15 specs or so

By the time you have those 15 spec people thou, you remember it all in the head anyway ;)

FF... I think you've misunderstood Tango's question.

In order to have 15 levels in 6 different spec your character would need... 90 specs. I don't think anyone has one of those yet :p

In most cases people have 3 or 4 levels of 3 or 4 specs, Tango :)

This is probably extremely conservative.

Regardless, the system/layout breaks down beyond 2 - 3 specs since it won't be feasible to leave off the level the character has achieved.

No, Tags are too free-form, and not everybody uses them in that manner, so in only a very few cases would the information displayed be relevant.

Yep Tags already do this to some degree, you just have to come up with your own system of abbreviations etc.

If anything I would like to see the level of a spec as well when I look at a character in event rather than just seeing Sniper etc.

You could always abbreviate if space is an issue.

Yes, you could use tags, if you're not already using them for something else.
Yes, you can expect someone to remember the specializations of 60 characters.
Or you could make things easier for someone quickly trying to make sure they brought their JR or FA along on a scout.

Even if you don't need it, maybe someone else would appreciate it?  It's probably a moot point, we have just one Sam and he's a busy man.

I really don't wanna 'ave a go.... I guess Ill get used to this... but at the moment I find it makes the character section really cluttered. instead of being able to check my characters quickly at a glance, I have to weed through all this extra text... the vehicle page is starting to look like a flight info board. :( Sometimes less is more.

I'm not sure, but I think its just for characters already in the car, so Im not really sure what its meant to help.

tags show when selecting crew to add to the car, these show on the vehicle sheet after they are already in the car.

Hope that clears it up, unless they are not showing when in your car.

It's all working fine for me.

It's working for me, but I'm not sure if I like it.  As mentioned above, the character area is now very busy.
