Many had witnessed first-hand a thrilling chase through the broken hills and smashed pre-apocalyptic highways just outside the town walls. "There's a wily pirate gang recently plying their trade around here", says bartender Ulrik Desertrunner, "and they go by the handle 'Government Resistance'". "Pounced on while just north of the town, Advanced Research Labs' unarmed troop transport squad 'Darkwind Ducks' had to make a run for it" "One of the Ducks' cars 'Flamer 3' took some heavy damage after pummeling into a tree on a tricky corner", says Ulrik. "Yeah, we all saw the rest," grunts a dark haired fellow in the corner; Flamer 3 comes tearing towards the town gates, belching smoke from its bonnet, with 2 or 3 cars in hot pursuit. "Well, they made in home -- just! with just some broken bones and flesh wounds as a reminder of the dangerous deserts around here" "A toast to Research Labs!" shouts Ulrik, raising his glass.
