This is kind of an amalgamation of other ideas and topics that have been brought up before, but...

In the long ago times....before footsquad encounters, when you demoed and lost, you would see messages at the end of the event. Either they made it back to town, they were eaten by mutant creatures, or they were killed by bandits.

The first two options are there in our current footsquad system, but I think the third would be tons of fun, especially in certain maps with buildings (Once Upon A Town).

Lots of fun, and nasty as all hell, especially when they have crossbows.

I had a +1 up top, but come to think of it,... well these are Badlands I guess. How about = 1 :rolleyes: or how about = head half torn off.

It sure would sort the men out from the boys, now where are my Matchbox cars.

but spawns would need to be some way away and preferably not heavily outnumbered.

I think that would depend on the area.  Walking back to SS should be fairly safe, but I wouldn't expect everyone to survive a walk back to FL or Shanty.

my point is this.... i have had a very good handgunner have his head shot off by an NPC who jumped out of a car because at short range peds hit first time.

against a large group of peds who started at the kind of range insects start you would be slaugtered without any chance to fight.

Im fine with having people killed... hell i embrace it! But the one thing players dont like is impossible situations.

Easy solution:  have different spawn "profiles" for insects and bandits.  Bandits, armed with ranged weapons and not quite as sneaky as bugs, spawn a bit farther away.  Crossbows would still be deadly, though. 

It would also give people more reasons to train up handguns skill other than for the specs and the ped leagues. 

And as a side note, I also support ped scouting.  More on this in another thread.
