Linda had been sitting idle in Texan for months. Truth was, she was bored with life. When the call came through for a potential suicide mission she jumped at the chance. Her first assignment had been difficult - finding the right recruits. Eventually, through the use of various extracts and beverages, a crew of some sort was assembled.

Four trucks stood ready in a nearby parking lot. Even heavily inebriated, the new recruits looked gingerly at one another.
"Trucks? We're going looking for mushrooms in trucks?"
"Sure," said Linda. "So we can bring back the mushrooms."

Nodding at the logic of her reply, they draped themselves in the cabins and settled themselves in for what was going to prove to be a long drive. More cactus was passed around and the gangers chewed thoughtfully on the tough, bitter plant.

After several hours of driving in the desert Linda snapped awake at the wheel. She rubbed her aching head and tried to remember the mission. A brief check in the mirrors showed the combat squad ahead, looking decidedly smaller than when they had rolled out of Texan. Two of the lorrys had become lost also.

Next to her, Aaron Barnett started to stir. Linda privately congratulated herself on getting the dose right, he at least was coming around at the right time. Shame about the drivers of the other two lorrys. The crews must have sobered up enough to understand what the reinforced rams meant.

"Where all did these Fire Engines come from, anyway?" asked Aaron, rubbing his eyes and wiping dribble off his chin.

"Uh... they are firemen. We got lost, so they are showing us the way home... "

"Cool! Get 'em to hit the siren!"

Linda looked sideways out the window at the menacing weapon platforms. "Maybe later."

**Later in Texan**
The new Dionysian recruits shuffled their feet

"Man, we saw a lot of mushrooms today" Charles Schmidt muttered. The mycology hadn't lost its grip on the hapless mutants yet. They stared at each other briefly, looks of disbelief plastered on their faces.

Linda had tried hard to look after the new recruits, and most of them still didn't realise what the mission had been. She quickly whispered into the reciever "It was a complete failure. We all lived."

Danielle "Wrong Way" Erhart climbed into the cab of the Firetruck "Uprising". She noticed her long time scout "Big Red" Barnes over talking to the Dionysian Dozen crew. Bunch of half and totally stoned dead heads from thhe lowest taverns in Texan. She didn't know what they were discussing but the large mutants were waving their hands, and other weird appendages, enthusiastically. Unfortunately, she did not notice the bag that was passed to Big Red during the exchange. About an hour later the convoy headed out into the wastes, and on into the night.

Later that night she figured they were half way there. The lights had been turned off for secrecy as they approached the vault. Danielle had noticed a ruddy red glow in the cab of the firetruck ahead of her, as well as the 2 Lorrys behind her. When she asked her gunner, Norbert "Norbie" Hernandez what it was, he guessed it was one of those red LED lights the scouts used in blackout conditions to read maps. Wrong Way was not sure about that.

As dawn raised over the wastes, Danielle could only count 4 firetrucks and 2 Lorrys with them. All the Fire Trucks were Hitmen vehicles and the two lorrys were driven by half the Dionysian Dozen crew. Where the rest of the convoy was she had no idea, but the lead truck pulled over and Big Red more or less fell out of the cab and onto his face as the door opened. He sprung to his feet fast enough, but it was decidely silly grin he had on his face as he motioned Wrong Way to follow him up a steep incline with his binoculars in one hand and a half eaten bag of chips in the other. He muched on them as they climbed.

Reaching the top of the rise, they low crawled to the edge, and there below was the enemy encampment. She put her binoculars on the palce to see what could be seen. It sure looked bigger than she remembered, and vaguely familiar.

"There she is Wrong Way" Big Red said between mouthfulls of chips. "Told ya I'd get us here". Continuing to munch he carried on. "What I can't figure is where the Hellriders are and the other two Lorries". As he finish his ramblings, Norbie walked up beside them, standing stright up and tall, hands on hips. Wrong Way was about to tell him to get the heck down, as he was highlighting himself on the ridge when she noticed he was now pointing back toward the road. As the sun had risen a bit higher it was quite easy to see the sign they had parked next to along the road. It said.

"Welcome to Texan".
