As discussed earlier this week, the new rules for training camps and hospitals are now in effect.

Each town specializes in training certain skills (e.g. Somerset is the best one to learn driving in). You'll see some extra text in the town descriptions when you select a town from the map.

See also my announcement about hitching a lift. It should now be possible for an enterprising gang to set up regular bus services bringing characters to other towns in time for the Friday training deadline, and then bringing them back afterwards.

Elmsfield now has the best hospital, where your characters will heal fastest. When we have illnesses implemented, Elmsfield hospital will be the only one that can save a character from certain ones.

ah nuts, i had just moved the majority of the gang up to somerset for training :\ Well this should spread out people's gangs a little then ;)

How about the skills that are not mentioned? mechanic? Ballistics?

And how does using a training facility to train a skill v training at a town known for training well compare?

Is trained fast in Sarsfield and Texan, which are the real production centres in Evan.

Ballistics?

Trained well anywhere it says "weapons skills" are trained well.

It varies; the training speed in each town is quite specific. Generally, a training facility is a very important factor though, at least as important as a town being a 'suitable place' to train something. But not always  B)

Somerset should have above average training mechanic too, after all it is the racing capital of the known world!

couple questions...

The only town I see that's good for weapons training is Morgan. Is it opening soon? And how does one train there without a training facility? Just by hanging out at the local watering hole and playing lots of darts? ;)

And Gateway, Firelight and Badlands TS.

Training is applied to characters even in towns without a facility, but it's not as effective. Since all of the weapons towns are small, the reality is that Somerset is probably your best bet for training weapons using its facility.

Heh good question. They train whatever you last set them to, the last time they visited a training camp.

Is there some way you might modify this behavior?  Kind of a drag to have to drag someone up to Somerset just to set what they're training.

I knew someone would say that ;-)

The only thing is, the training camp is where you currently set training orders. Where else could it intuitively be done from?

I personally think its fine. Consider it a one time inconvenience for the continued game development. From then on, just make sure you plan ahead before leaving a town with a training center.

could be set under the character's information screen, but right now the ability to select what to train is a perk of subscribing (since the training facility is only accessible by subscribers) so you still might want to limit the functionality if you move it there.

Perhaps on the little character full info box that you get when you click on the character on your My Gang page... It might be nice to see what they're currently training on that page anyway.
