Deathangel and I are just in the process of getting nine new chassis types ready for the game. Yes, 9! I won't get to finish my part of the work until later unfortunately, but here's a sneak peek:

The ambulance will be rare, fast and very tough. I think I'll make this one never for sale, but only obtainable when you run into high-skilled NPC wilderness gangs:

The moose is a mid-size car, a little larger than the symph and with a better engine capacity:

The chevalier is similar:

The spirit, another mid-range car, is slightly bigger/roomier but engine cap is the same as the symph:

The voyager is slightly faster and lighter, and with a bigger engine capacity. Not quite a muscle-car but getting there:

The estate is a clumsy 6-seater, good for budget taxi missions. I forsee many Road Ronins dying in these  (j/k vikk)

The semi tractor could prove to be a fast, though very ungainly, vehicle. It has a good engine capacity of course. Tractor-trailer rigs aren't yet implemented in terms of the physics, but these babys could make for some funny racing action:

The fire engine, similar to the ambulance, will be a powerful and sturdy vehicle, and one that is hard to find and impossible to buy:

The boxvan is larger than the carrier van, but otherwise similar.

If anyone can suggest further ways of differentiating all those mid-range cars, in terms of gameplay, let me know..

LOL, yeah probably.  :o

I would rather see more variety of trading vehicles, such as the ambulance, fireengine and boxvan.
Though the fireengine could be some kind of armoured combat truck.  :cyclops:

Maybe more cars for pirates instead?

Actually I gotta admit I like seeing a bunch of cars with overlap avail. small differences in handling and accleration could make for some interesting pro-racing class events, aka-"mid sized sedan only"

Agree with ya Seiler. Overlap imho is required in multiplayer games. It allows players to choose a base chassis that suits them so you will actually end up with variety as opposed to everyone driving the same car in each category.

I think that'd be kinda cool, also a water cannon turret on the fire engine once those are implemented would add some flavour aswell :p

Fantastic, glad to see some more mid-size cars. Love 'em.

Also, glad to see another mission/trade vehicle will be available. I really hope it won't be that rare.

Does the Semi Tractor use the trucking skill? It's less than 500 bulk, but it probably should use the skill regardless...

Alo: it doesn't right now, but I'm just in the process of changing it so trucking skill is defined by chassis type, independently of its size.

So the 'trucker' chassis will be:

2 axle lorry
ambulance
boxvan
semi tractor
fire engine

Sounds good. It makes it easier to decide where Trucker skill characters go.

Thank you!

hehe this would explain much why my trucker managed to spin out, flip the the tractor, and sink into the ground :D
