After doing a large number of lorry runs to get my camp up and going, I've been introduced to A armor Lorries. The difference between it and a B armor lorry is night and day.

Are there other vehicles which just simply demand A armor all the time or even C armor (I remember some car designs using C armor for the extra weight to help keep recoil and the bouncing front end in check).

A armor anything is awesome...
C armor anything sucks

Anyway, I'd say the lorry is the one you'd see the most significant change in, for the rest it helps, but for the lorry it can help negate a heavy load for sure, that, and a 9.4l engine.

A C armored Wurzel would be an incredibly cheap trainer vehicle in SS. It's not going to outrun anything anyways!

I use C armour on my heavily armed landies, helps to stop them bucking all over the place.

A-armored lorries and combat vehicles are for people with more money than sense. A couple of rocket hits to the side of your lorry and you've lost all potential profit from your run.

I've recently started to use a C armored dual HMG merc for scouting somerset with trainees. Low cost to acquire, maintain and replace, and if I lose it no great loss.

I've used C armor successfully on Apaches with two big guns, like CC and HGG, to keep the bounce in check.

C armour heavies are good in general. I haven't tried it, but a C armour Merc or Windy would make a lot of sense and the weight would help with recoil.

Main thing I use A armor for is for smaller bulk courier work (PU/BPU) and personnel runners (muscle cars) - just a little extra edge for outrunning other vehicles during encounters. I can't vouch for its effectiveness on a van/lorry as yet but I suspect it doesn't help as much as having escort vehicles for the van/lorry would.

Basically it's useful for a small to mid-size solo vehicle whose sole role is to run away rather than fight. A armor could be good for optimizing a racing vehicle, if you can soak the expense.

I use A armor a lot on muscle cars and racers.

Windy II's bounce too much with A though. I like them in B armor.

Never found a good use for C armor though. I like my speed too much.

Although I haven't tried it, I've heard other players say that C Armor is awesome for Ram Cars. More vehicle mass equals more destructiveness.

On the flip side, it's harder to build up momentum.

I use a C armour Bucc every now and then. Much quicker than an apache with B armour and the same motor and almost as heavy.

I've been testing out a C armored Phoenix to try and save money. It's not bad. It accelerates just a little slower, but not a lot and definitely not as much as I feared considering it added over 1000 weight. Oh I'm running a 4L on it btw. The main downside is it's definitely slower going up steep hills. Otherwise it seems to work quite well.

On the plus side, it's rock solid when it fires and when it takes hits. I've taken RL hits to the side and I didn't even see the car move. I can't say the same with my B armored Phoenix. Armor repair costs are of course half of what they are with B armor (since C costs half as much as B).

So, as a cost-saving measure in Somerset I'd say it's a practical thing to do. I wouldn't make your only Phoenix use C armor, but if you have more than one, try it and see if it works for you. Those of you who find such expenses irrelevant probably won't want to bother.

"an A armoured moray with a 5lv8 spends most of its time in the air"

True, while I've used them on travels occasionally, I stick with the 3.2LV8s for a REASON!!!

But, I will say, the flights of a 5LV8 powered Moray are quite epic..... :D
