Norbert "Norbie" Hernandez stepped down from the Ambulance "Imperial's" running board and slammed the door closed. There was a grim set to his mutated face which was full of rage and fury. Stalking over to the HTI lorry Exposition as it was coming to a stop in Consortium Truckstop's large motor pool people scattered out of his way. There was red murder in eyes, he was a giant mutant and few got in his way when he was in a rage. As the dust settled from the lorry's stop the air brakes vented and the large vehicles engine was shut down. A terrible silence descended on the compound, only the click of Norbies boots broke what was an unusual hush for the arrival of a convoy. Usually there was much commotion, hand shaking, congratulations for a job well done, calls for help unloading, and a hundred other sounds that are made by the arrival of a large convoy. Not today. Today there was a deathly silence like before a breaking storm. The lorry's door opened and a wide eyed mutant clambered nervously down. Dallas "Zombie" Rios looked a mess. Not a pretty person to begin with, he looked even worse if that was possible, and he was clearly terrified.

Norbie stormed righ up to Zombie who began to try and speak. He never got a word out before the big mutant's hand clamped around his neck and pinned him to the side of the lorry. He made a slight gurgling sound before Norbie's huge paw clamped closed and further sounds were cut off. No one moved or made a sound and it looked like this was the end of Zombie Rios as his eyes rolled up in his head and he passed out.

"Enough!"

Danielle "Wrong Way" Erhart moved through the assembled crowd which had grown to watch the events unfold.

"Norbie, let him go, what the hell is going on here"?

Norbie snarled, his mouth was full of jagged jeeth. He looked toward Wrong Way, and then back at Zombie. With one last growl he both released Zombie's neck and threw his limp body into the dust. Slowly he raised up from his fighting crouch, looking for all the world like a bear rising up on its hind legs. With all the same menace and danger. Wrong Way's eyes narrowed.

"Stand down Norbie, what is going on here. Where is Iva and the Resolute"?

Norbie curled his lip in a sneer and jabbed a finger at the comatose Zombie.

"Ask that moron about the Resolute. As for Iva and Silver, they are in the back of the lorry. Well, what's left of em is anyway".

Wrong Way felt like she had been punched in the gut. One of the best scouts she had ever seen, and one of the best laser specialists in the company were dead on a routine convoy mission. A quick check of the 4 other vehicles did not show significant damage. From the looks of of it, it was not a very tough fight. She glanced at the still form of Zombie, he seemed to be breathing, at least he hadn't died from Norbies fury.

"Well, Zombie ain't talkin thanks to you, so why don't you cowboy up and do your job. Give me the OPREP, this was your command, what happened".

Norbie visibly deflated. He stared at Wrong Way for a few moments. "

Nothing happned, that's the problem, we waxed em, they came at us at range, Iva saw them easily, it was a cake walk. That's when this idiot napping over here managed to ram the Turin. It caught on fire. Iva said she could put the fire out, and it seemed they had, but one of the lasers apparently malfunctioned and it flared up again. Before I could get them out of there it blew. by then we were busy with the enemy anyway. End of story. This moron killed two of our best men, destroyed a Turin, a 5LV12 and 2 Lasers. I figured his life was even payment".

Wrong Way cursed, and then cursed again.

"Leave him be, thats enough death for today. Download the equipment and see me in my office. We have to figure out how we are going to un-screw this situation".

Wrong Way turned on her heel and marched back to her building while the rest of the men started to move. A single tear streamed down her cheek. In the wastes that was all the mourning a good freind got, if the living were smart, and wanted to stay alive themselves.
