Darkwind - Viewing Topic: Black Screen

I can load up the Lobby fine and it updates and all that. When the Power PC Client starts up, I just get a black screen. The music seems to start up just fine, I just get nothing visual. No error messages in the console either, and I can quit out of it no problems.

I'm running OSX 10.3.9 on a G3 iBook. Is that my problem?

What are the specs of the video card?

The G3 may be slow too, though I think you could play anyway.

Looks like an old Rage M3 card with 8M (eek!) of VRAM.

The joys of running old equipment...

ouch, anything under 32 mb of VRAM won't work.
Time to hunt for a second hand (or more) G4.
One of our players (and beta testers) has been running it on a G4-400 Mhz, with a decent 64 mb video card, if I don't remember correctly.

Okiedoke, that explains it then. I am limping along on this thing for the moment until I scrape the cash for an Alienware gaming-capable portable PC. Once I get that sucker I'll be back!
