Really? Are you opposed to the film or Broken Hills? Granted this film appears it will be more of a reboot than a sequel, but it is still George Miller so it's not like someone new doing whatever they want with it. Sure, we'd all love to see Mel continue on as Max, but I have faith Tom Hardy can do a credible job.
Broken Hills is where it SHOULD be filmed. While shipping the production out to Africa will give them the arid location they need, Broken Hills is where MM2 was filmed and would keep the feel of the 'same world'. Unfortunately that part of Australia has been blessed with unusual amount of rainfall and is too green for the film's need.

Boo hiss. I jsut want the freakin, movie, I dont care where or who it is :D

The mad max movies arent perfect, but theyre cool as hell and by far the best I've seen on post apocalypse. The theme is cool but the films always seem to lose everything after the first awesome 3 minutes. Even the Patrick Swayze post apo movie Steel Dawn has a super intro and then the rest is ABT kids and land-sail-ship-trike-thingys.

Just gimme a MAd Max movie and I'll pay for the cinema tickits.

as long as the movies still have some grit, and as good a sound track as 2 (imo one of the greatest soundtracks ever for a film). The 3rd one was losing that a bit.

"I think we all need this... I've had it up to here with Ewoks!"

Well luckily they already made the "before the post-apo" episode (MM1). I heard that the designers for the new star wars films started designing gritty stuff before mister lucas ordered them to make everything shiny.

Now that I have been watching the Clone Wars animated series a bit, the shiny is not so bad. The first three movies really fail to give anakin good character development and thats where all the shiny takes too much of the stage. We just sorta see a snap shot every movie of how he turns into Vader.

Its the sutble stuff in 1 and 2 that really make the MM flicks and that requires good story, not just a link of great action sequences. Road Warrior was basically nothing but visual and the holes are many but its telling a good story. 3 gets a bit 'the Muppets' and I hope these next 2 are not going to be the same.

Movies with music are stupid. What? Is there a global transmitting device and satellite boom boxes?

Enough.

It's all about the story. With modern technology and a serious budget Miller is able to put more into the story than he did originally. I'm not real hip on the whole 3D thing and lots of CGI, but if it doesn't detract from content of the story it can work. MM1 was extremely low budget yet he was able to tell a gripping tale with high impact real stunts. Even though it was rated R at the time it's violence is mostly implied and tame by today's standards.

great character developement

that movie would not be the same without Toecutter, the night rider (two great performances) the captain (damn, name loss) Goose, the cheesy ass lawer, t-th-the Me-ch-mec-mecha-nic. Notice I don't mention Mel.  Yeah all the car stuff is awesome, but what makes the film is the story.

Im not much for MTV in my movies and can't stand all the big glam tracks of modern movies (pre 1980 james bond aside, but it works there. OHMSS has the best track ever playing over the ski scene. I can hum that all day), but a good score really makes a difference. Can make you feel things that you otherwise would not watching a film. This is much studied and why hits are now used, makes us buy stuff. Sure silence is good too (and greatly underused) and Im a big fan of little is more, but amazing what a little tune can do to a scene. One of the reasons I like this score. There is lots of music in this film and each scene is being told by the music. Take the music away from (I would say any, but... ) the first scene, and its a bit lacklaster. Its the horns that start it off and give us an intro. I love it. Im singing all the way through, and still don't fail to hold onto my seat in the last bit. Don't go out on the bonnet! and here the silence is goldern, nothing but wind. Really makes something thanks to the contrast of music and

Music is a major influence on what you see.

Take the beginning of Jaws, turn the sound down and play the beach boys at the start. Damn funny to see the body dance around in a pool of blood as everyone cheers on the shoreline. And under the water the fishes swim down in copamo (or whatever that friggin song is) totally loses all drama and suspense.

Latest rumor suggests filming in Morocco. The other option is Nambia. Both provide some of the most arid conditions on earth. It's possible the theme is about water instead of fuel. I have noticed plenty of females in the cast list :Teresa Palmer, Charlize Theron, Zoë Kravitz (daughter of Lenny), and Adelaide Clemens. Even though it is known that Tom Hadry will play Max, there are rumors that Mel will be involved. One theory is that he will do the opening/closing narration similar to MM2, which was suppose to be the Feral Kid as the leader of the Great Northern Tribe.
