Earnest 'Touch' Cleary was riding in the crowded gunner/ loading bay of the venerated lorry. Along side him was Random Defunct Gang Member #34 - Earnest think he'd heard someone call him Glen earlier but he didn't really care. Quite frankly he was getting sick of riding along side these freeloaders. Sure, in the past they earned their keep. But now their funding had dried up and gang leadership had lost interest in them they were just a dead-weight, eating food and pissing in the wrong places.

For a few minutes now the incessant clanking and banging of repeated mortar rounds and dropped mines had filled the entire lorry. With the silencing of the munitions the space felt empty now, despite the cargo stuffed in ever spare crevice and littering much of the floor space not already taken up with empty ammo boxes.

Word came from the driver of the escort vehicle - one more dropped object aught to obscure the road enough to ensure they got away safely.

Earnest eyed the empty boxes, he was fresh out of mines. In a flash of inspiration, his eyes flicked up to look at his fellow traveller, and then across to the access hatch...
