Evan Reds and Me, A little Claret

Jeelz The Dionysian Dozen -CHQ- Darkwind Guru Mutants Faction Group: Members Posts: 1,054 Joined: Apr 30, 2009 Not so much any more, but for the couple of years I use to haunt the lobby for close to 6 hours every day, and I'd guesstimate less than a quarter of what was discussed in the lobby had anything to do with DW. It was a social space, where people have a crack and catch up, greet each other, exchange pleasantries and the odd bit of friendly banter. Those looking for serious scouting can also use the scouting flag, set up their own channels, go on vent, IM people, etc. Those with DW related questions pretty much always got an answer within a reasonable time frame, new guys would be greeted and given offers of assistance. Perhaps there could be two "main" channels? One for social discourse, greetings and the like, and another set aside just for scouting? Then again, due to my timezone there was rarely more than half a dozen people actively conversing in the lobby. Even today, checking in for just 10 minutes - there was something like 20 people logged in, and not a single line of dialogue for five minutes at a time. It seems excessive clutter in the lobby is a sometimes, not oft times occurrence. Obviously we should avoid upsetting people, but I'd guess that on the odd occasion the topic is upsetting to someone, all they would need to do is ask for the discussion to be taken elsewhere, and the friendly folk of the DW community would be happy to comply. All repsect to those suggesting limitations, but asking everyone to stay just on DW all the time in the lobby could be seen as heavy-handed and unnecessary. ......................... vet wv combatL1 raceL1 deathrceL1 paintladder Posted Feb 4, 2012, 2:04 am

It probably would be hard to keep a few pages going. Most of the time things flow pretty well and everyone can find what hey need. I was looking at the other channel tabs yesterday and thinking they could be used for more, but in hindsight, I think you're right here. My bad.  Not at all bud. and as for the rest of your post, I have a similar idea of Evan. Its easy to mix stuff up in these posts. Language is lost a bit sometimes. I need to be a bit more careful with what I read and how I react. My retaliation to D0dgers post for instance... A concern was not being able to follow both lobby and chat channel, but we found it quite easy. Starting up a new channel is simple to do, no PW needed. Once you've joined that channel you will be notified of any update in that channel while in any other channel (in or out of events, Team channel, Lobby channel etc) by the name being highlighted in Red, this happens for any reply in that channel. So, pretty easy, and if people used it often it would become second nature to use it for any non DW discussion. (like if you want really to chat about something.. other games in detail, the football, Lovely Candy girls, general drunken chit chat etc) Im not saying here that you have to use it, but maybe worth a try.
