When you want to not just look tough, but be tough, you come to the Skunk Works.   For our premier offering, we give you the Armadillo, rolling right out of yesterday's battlefields and onto the pages of Evan legend! Retro-engineered from the best military specs, this beast is ready to chew through your enemies and bring you home in one piece, time after time. High grade plate steel, bullet resistant glass, high torque winches- front and rear, halogen lights, reinforced doors and hatches, upgraded suspension, protected cargo boxes, plate truck bed liner, it's all there. The first line-up offers a choice of 4 colors, desert camel, urban gunmetal, jungle drab and spec-ops navy. Order yours today for $150k, this will be the first, limited run, with more color schemes coming soon.   As a special thank you to our customers, we are also proud to sponsor an upcoming race, the 1st annual Skunk Works challenge. The Armadillo stampede, the inaugural event, will be a team race, with the winning team getting first crack at our new Armadillo camouflage line, at a deep discount. This line will not be available to the general public, be the first to rock this sweet ride on your next scout! The overall race winner will also receive a special, unique Armadillo stampede champion skin, to show all Evan who's boss. This race will be open to Armadillo purchasers, only. We plan to premier a new vehicle design and race each year, so hopefully, this will be the first of many fun events to come!   Thanks to all who have helped behind the scenes to make this all happen, you know who you are! We hope to proudly serve the Evan community for many years, thanks in advance for your support.   Remember, don't just look mean, BE MEAN! OOC: to order, get a BPU up anywhere with a market, PM me with your choice of color, the location and the password. When the work is done I will re-list it on the market, once payment has been confirmed I will PM you the password. If you wish to participate in the race, state this along with the times that work best for you. Once I have an idea on the number of entries and availability, I will post a preliminary time for the race. A poll may also be in the works, if needed. The first 4 interested customers of each color will be entered as a team, 4 teams of 4, if there is enough entries. The best team average time wins the race, with an overall race winner, as well. Team winners get first crack at the new camo line, at a discount price of 25k. Overall winner will be e-mailed a unique bragging rights skin with a never to be offered color and graphics. My hope is to have ad-hoc teams, and prefer that no outside alliances influence the outcome of the race. The idea is to promote fun and unity, I will be spectating the event and doing my best to keep things fun and fair. Our inaugural Skunk Works challenge race event, the Armadillo stampede, has just gotten better! The race will still be a team event, but it is now going to be a "rabbit run". I will let your imaginations run wild on this, but rest assured, this will be like nothing Evan has seen before! This is not a race to be missed, the competitor in me wishes I could get in on the action, myself. But heavy is the head that wears the crown, and I have a shop and gang to run. Remember, there's a trophy awaiting a champion: Your name here. OOC: This will be a rally type event, rules to be announced shortly before the race. This should be a unique event, and if it goes well, more like it will follow. A "rabbit" has already been confirmed for the race, and is looking forward to playing his part. As am I. Since the artist's ego would wither if the later were true, I choose to believe I have overshot the mark on price. I would like to say, upfront, that I truly struggled to decide on how much to ask. I sought advice from other shop owners, looked at their ads for prices, and generally bugged everyone I thought might know about it. The answers I got were vague and didn't get me any closer to what I should ask for a skin. I spent over a month RT mulling it over and in the end came up with the price you see in my ad. This was based off of the effort put into the skins themselves and the overall work around the storefront. Understand, I'm not in this for the money, really. Sure, making some side cash for my gang is great, but I'm doing this because I enjoy doing it. I would love to see Evan littered with my skins, though I'm happy just making them for myself. If anyone else enjoys them too, even better. Same for the stories. So, if there is anyone who is interested in my BPU skin, PM me with an offer you think is more in line. No reasonable offer will be refused. If there are enough entries to hold it, the race will still be on- and I really hope there are, it would be a blast. My apologies for missing the mark so badly on this, it was and is not my intention to get rich from my shop. I just like making skins, and I hope you like them, too. Any skin that is monogrammed, one of a kind or gang specific for that player makes it valuable to them and they are usually willing to pony up to get it. You are hoping your design is appealing enough to perk the interest of random players. That is a lot tougher to do. JeeTeeOh has been the only skinner here that I have seen that has been able to do that. Being a skinner means you must have a tough skin yourself. As much time and effort you may put in on creating a custom skin, doesn't really mean others will like the design enough to rock it themselves. So then its back to the drawing board and try it again. Find your niche and consider this. Players don't "need" skins to play DW, but there are quite a few players "want" them when they play DW. That is your target group, find out what is popular with them. Bottom line, don't give up, because every skin is not a home run. If the skins aren't original enough - to have a event for the buyers of the skin alone is king. If you think you can match what he has done, you can take over what he was doing for me and I'll send a steady cash flow your way. How about this: the role of the rabbit in this little race is being filled by none other than Mr. Snipe of the Renshai gang. A more slippery opponent you won't find this side of Evan! What part in this race will the rabbit play? Sign up and find out...   And as I want to see as many of these out there giving raiders hell, let's make the skin price 30k, and the team winning the event can have the camo skin at 10k, so that's 2 skins for 40k for the winning team, 3 if they are the overall winner as well, getting that sweet bragging rights skin. Do I hafta beg?!   As added incentive, here are a couple of shots of the camo swatch used in the first of the upcoming camouflage line of the Armadillo, and a teaser shot of the graphics on the prize skin, drool away...   Come on, folks, seriously, this is gonna be a good time, and I have invested much into getting this all together- I really want to see this event happen!
