Well what fun was had by all on this one :rolleyes:

Only half managed to finish the first race and none on the 2nd – the problem Racing Tractors and the courses……………….

I realise it should be a challenge but I think that everyone in the 2nd race would agree that Gate 8 was impossible to complete :mad:

And after spending a good hour trying I would ask that either we drop the Racing Tractor from the COE lists or at least try and make sure that we have a route it has a chance of completing.

Or maybe give the option for Peds to complete gates

A true exercise in frustration!

I gave up after 2 hours. Gate 8 was impossible.

My truck was barely damaged but I ended up getting it wedged in a crack so deep, it just would not break free.

The first round, the game saw fit to start my truck on its side. Over 150 turns later I joined the race, but only made it to Gate 5 before I had to leave for a SCL match.

No points netted! It was a Suck day in Texan!

I participated in the latter CoE3 and I agree with Awefense. I think it would a fine solution if Peds could walk through the gates. Should be an easy fix by Sam to make that possible.

Myself, I wasted 5 hours this weekend trying to complete COE III, twice, without success. What is normally a fun, entertaining and social event turned into silence and hair-pulling frustration. Gotta give it to the DW crew, though- everyone who didn't have to bail to attend other events stuck it out until their vehicles were either stuck or destroyed- which in the case of the 2nd COE III lasted over 3 hrs! I know because an hour after I had gotten hopelessly stuck and quit, I checked the events page and the event was still live, 3 hours and 15 minutes after its start. No one can say we didn't try...and not walk away without a bruise.

Yeah I managed to finish the first race but nothing about it was fun - and it was only an hour and a half of pain for me. I feel for you guys in the second race - sounds worse :(

Texan(Maybe Sars a little) is like this every 3 or 4 seasons where either the chassis or the gate layout makes completing these events very difficult or nearly impossible. At least it's better than it used to be when water/oil killed your engine.

What bothered me the most is the waste of time put into the event, time is valuable to me(us) and I was not pleased spending so much to accomplish the same thing as if I had done nothing and could have done something else instead.

Unfortunately the only/easiest way is to remove the Semi as there are to many ped issues on those maps as they were never designed with peds in mind. As you may recall, my ped got stuck trying to go through the gate. The steep hills make peds slide back and if you fall into a (v) shaped crevice, the peds feat will no longer make contact with the terrain and will be permanently stuck there until resigning/escaping.

Normally an event sponsor would not make an event that could not be completed, unfortunately the server is not smart enough to know that the physics engine would not allow that chassis to reach that gate. If Sam was still spending time with the game he might be able to code it better, but don't see this happening.

The silver lining is it puts those players who completed the first event back in the running for the top spots in the league.

Skip to turn 90 or so and watch the next 10 turns. Watch as a semi minding its own business trying to pass the finish line gets slapped into the air in an instant and then swatted over the wall like a tennis ball in but a few seconds.

wow that was really funny (because it wasnt me ;). looks to me like you went over that little bump, bottomed out coming down and the bumper caught and flipped you. in real life the bumper would have just crumpled with that much force applied to it, of course, but that kind of physics doesnt exist in dw obviously.

Seems to me, without trailers, the semi is a complete waste. Add to that the fact that it is near un-drivable due to it's ground scraping front bumper which catches on everything, be it pebble or blade of grass. With no purpose, it should be removed from the entire game. No one uses one, and if it shows up in a race event, you can hear the groans of the players echo planet wide. After my last 2 experiences trying in vain to finish the Texan COE with one, I plan on avoiding ANY future race with the semi as the sponsor car. Doubt I'm alone.
