Pearson finished her drink, rolling the last dregs around her mouth as she tried again to comprehend what Crowley had just told her, though the grin that threatened to split his face in two told her everything she needed to know.

"The Ramjets have just lost every vehicle we own in Somerset, as leader I decide to cool scouting in the Badlands and you bugger off with Dacus and Cruz for a joyride - have I got that straight?"

Crowley nods with his stupid grin.

"You run into the leader of the Warthogs in a Buzzer with a Evan Enforcer for backup and you run away".

Crowley nods with his stupid grin.

"The Warthogs chase but you outrun the Buzzer and you pick off the Enforcer and rather than running home you go looking for Schmitz and his pet Buzzer."

Crowley nods with his stupid grin.

Pearson pauses and still doesn't believe what she is about to say. "You found that Buzzer stuck in a depression in the ground unable to get out, rolled up to the side of it and blew the hell out of it until Schmitz surrendered".

Crowley nods with his stupid grin.

"And, and......and Schmitz still got away even though he only had one leg and his only foot was broken...........?"

Crowley doesn't nod, he shrugs his shoulders with his stupid grin - "I don't make the rules!"

"No, I do and you broke them, in this case I'm prepared to be lenient, I'll take the Buzzer in lieu of your misbehaviour"

Crowley doesn't nod or shrug and he has stopped grinning.

"But........."

Pearson gets up, tosses money on the table. "There aren't any, its mine now, you should be thinking about how we are going to erase the Warthogs before their leader comes looking for his big toy."

Pearson strides out of the pub and into her new Buzzer. No need to open the door the gaping hole on the right-hand side made by twin HMGs provides entry and air-con.

As Pearson moves off she decides Crowley won't have to pay to have the Buzzer patched up, he'd suffered enough.....
