Gil downs his second drink in as many minutes. "If we'da lost the Dust Devil I'da walked in tha other direction. Screw comin' back home. We just lost the one?"

"Yeah. Bad, but shoulda been a lot worse."

"Never seen Ashes drive like that before. Heck, don't think I've seen anyone drive like that."

"You see that ram?"

"It was on my side. I coulda reached out an' unbolted the damned thing as we went by if I wasn't so busy picturing my ribcage gettin' rammed through my skull. Yeah I saw it."

They both go quiet for a few seconds.

"Anyway, nice shootin'."

"Yeah, man. You too."
