Ive been watching this for some time and recently bought it. I have to say that if you like Rouge-Likes then you'd probably like this.

Its a Rouge-Like with a twist. Each of your characters when they defeat a boss and make it back to their "Academy" with his heart, adds to the Acadamy's ability to train their successor when they die. also when you die, and the next guy comes along and does the dungeon, they can find your pile of bones and get a little bit of experience points. So its kind of a "Persistent Rouge-Like"

Also has great humor that is understated and doesn't force it on you like a lot of games do. Some of it is so understated that if you don't get it, the game isn't going to go out of its way to explain it. (Like the encounter where you fight punks throwing Molotovs on the road from behind barriers... Its a reference to a level in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES 16 bit... 1980's reference. but if you never played TMNT on NES in the 1980's then its not going to tell you or even refer to it to clue you in)

One of my favorite lines for a skill description is something like "If you are going to go loot-whoring, you might as well have a big pile of it to collapse and bleed to death on"

Currently $14.99 on Steam.

I bought it. and you all know im a cheapskate. I like this game.

I know I'm being petty, but please.. it's ROGUE-like.
I recently had to grade a masters thesis where this student called it a rouge throughout (despite me telling him not to) so it's a thing for me at the moment.

Awesome! Been marking 100 level essays (about to start on my next lot now) and had some great ones.

Had a student (obviously using auto-correct) replace every instance of "conflates" with "cornflakes" - hilarious to mark. The there was the student apparently writing about "gamergrate" (which I thought was even more appropriate).

Favourite of the lot - the one sentence conclusion to an essay on technological determinism and cyber utopianism which stated, "And thus, #### happens".

heh...

Yeah...  BA in English Writing here and Spelling has never been my strong point.  Normally I spell it "Rougue" but I know one of the U's doesn't belong.  I removed the wrong one.

As I was born with Dyslexia (Sp?) I had to learn to read through Phonics in the 1970 when it was still a new teaching method.  I just have to remember to spell the word "ROG-YOU" (Ro-Gue) when I really mean "Row-Guh".  I have to do that with many other words like Received (spelled in m head "Reh-See-Aye-Eh-Vd") or Knight (K-Nig-Het instead of K-Nite) and Knife (I feel like that needs a GHT all the time instead of an FE)

Funny that - I was born with a form of Dyslexia (specific learning difficulty to be correct), unfortunately it was a form that affects the way my hearing works - so learning with phonics never worked for me. I learnt reading by recognising words hence my pronunciation is terrible, and I don’t know all my letter sounds but I can read a book in no time at all.

The funniest thing is my 6 year old is being taught phonics at school and she corrects me on the letter sounds

;)

Fixed that for ya. Being from Yorkshire is not "a form of dyslexia"

probably a combination of the 2 with you. Bigspenner is almost incomprehensible... you must be like a mouthful of teeth and mangled vowel sounds.  B)
