Hi All,
I am an odd kind off newbie, had created an account years ago, but never got to play, was in a car accident the next morning, pretty badly hurt, and forgot all about the game..
Until a couple weeks ago, now I can't stop playing!

Anyway here are a few questions.

1. Does the courage stat ever increase?, I have a few gunners with 30, and they freak out quickly then shortly afterwards the driver joins them, and we're done.

2. Is it better to slowly increase the accelerator, or do you just set it really high, and only adjust it when necessary?

3. If I have a guy that has a 20 cycling, should I be using my offline training on cycling for when it gets implemented, or should I work on something else that is active?

4. I saw for a while that after I loose a vehicle when scouting it still shows in my vehicles tab, but says its owned by First Bank of Sometset, can I purchase it back? or is that the name of the gang I fought? or something else?

That's all for now, thanks in advance
Mike

1. Courage does increase. It increases fastest when your circle goes red in combat but your guys survive and/or win.

2. I just set that sucker high and let it accelerate on its own unless I want to hold speed or brake. Then I pull it back down to where I want to be.

3. Cycles will be implemented about the same time we build a colony on Mars. Don't hold your breath.

4. I have no idea. When I lose a car I figure it's gone.

Glad you found your way back to the wastes of Evan!

courage goes up the more often you get scared but don't freak out. put high courage guys alongside low courage and they rise fairly fast.

set it high

don't even think about cycling... it is very unlikely to be added in this game engine

no you cant... it rests there for a time in case there was a bugged event so it can be returned but it has gone.

Speed setting isn't terribly important except with certain high acceleration cars. Notable examples are the Eaton and some of the supercars. The Eaton when on full out acceleration will do an "Eaton Yank" when turning. You will end up where the ghost is but it will "Yank" the nose that direction at the last instant of the action phase and the Physics will be set for the next turn as if the car was yanking hard that direction. Then you have to correct and again it Yanks. Eventually these oscillations get bigger and bigger until you either slow down quite a bit or wipe out. This is tied to partly to acceleration but in some chassis the influence of acceleration is more noticeable than in others.

For the most part it's not commonly an issue so 90% of the time I just set my target speed and leave it.

I'm beginning to think it's better to keep an eye on target speed and vary it: guess the speed I should be going on a curve, and set the meter to that speed.

Following a race course, following a road on the wilderness, negating going airborne, rough terrain... All places where keeping an eye on your speed really matter.

For the most part yes just set the speed to faster then you think you will ever need to go and leave it. You will need to slow, hard brake, or even yank the hand brake for certain maneuvers in scouts and the like, and slowing to make hard corners can save you from major problems.

The vehicle is lost.
Originally when I implemented this, I simply deleted the vehicle from the database. However, occasionally bugs in a game or a bad internet connection etc. meant that the vehicle was unfairly lost and I wanted to restore it to the player. With a deleted vehicle this was a PITA!  So what happens now is that lost vehicles are transferred to the First Bank of Somerset for a few weeks before being purged.

New question,
What does the second number in parenthesis mean when viewing a persons skills?

Example:

Skills & Abilities
Strength 61
Dexterity 34
Speed 44
Leadership 38
Courage 48
Driving 19 (18)

Also is there a place to view the full paint schemes, instead of just the thumbnails?

This means your Driving has increased from 18 to 19 at some point during the week (either due to use or the weekly training).

Get one of his skills to 40.  Then you can give him a nickname.  At least, I think it is 40.

Nice.

I noticed that in the Private history section, It shows that my guy lost an ear two times, but in the bottom under injuries, it shows only one missing, is that a bug maybe?
(I have another guy, that is missing toes, that has this same issue, unimportant really, but funnier if everyone else could see the whole group of injuries)

Just wait'll you have a guy lose three arms or six legs.

This is just a product of the random assignment of injury "flavor," and the solution is to roleplay it in your mind. Trickier with ears than with leg stumps, but I just imagine the guy raging about how he had just thismuch of his right ear left, and then damned if shrapnel didn't take that too!
