The Great Pentagon Scavenger Hunt

Greetings fellow Wastelanders, Awefense here.

I am announcing a contest, hosted by yours truly. The Great Pentagon Scavenger Hunt is a supply based contest that lasts for two weeks. During those two weeks, your job is to scavenge up as many car parts and electronic parts and donate them to The Pentagon.

I will track all donations, posting daily (I may miss a couple) progress reports on current standings. You are welcome to truck in components and break them down in camp.

There are a few contest rules.

1) To keep this contest fun, busy, and newbie friendly, no one can use anything larger than a box truck to truck stuff in. All contest squads must have PSH (Pentagon Scavenger Hunt) in the squad name. All contest squads must have their vehicles unhidden.

2) You are welcome to donate whatever you like, but only car parts and electronic parts will count for points in the contest.

3) You will have to app at The Pentagon. Once I have made you a Full Member, you must post in The Great Pentagon Scavenger Hunt camp forum thread. At that time you are officially in the contest. If you are already a member of the Pentagon, you still have to post in said thread to make your contest entry official.

3A) Because this is a camp based contest, scav gangs are not eligible to compete. Sorry scav guys!

4) I am not eligible to enter this competition. I will be running my lorry, lol.

5) After the two weeks are up and the contest ends, totals will announced, and prizes shipped.

6) Minimum Prize Requirements : To have a shot at earning First Prize, you must donate a minimum of 200 car parts and 50 electronic parts. To have a shot at Second Prize, you must donate a minimum of 50 car parts and 50 electronic parts. 3rd through 10th place have no such requirements.

PRIZES

1st Place gets a brand new buzzer, A armored, with a 3.2LV8 engine, and Offroad tires. Comes equipped with one Car Cannon.

2cd Place gets a 5LV8 engine.

3rd - 10th Place get to choose from the following list of goodies, in the order that they placed. 3) A Heavy Gatling Gun 4) A 3.2LV8 engine 5) Rocket Booster 6) Nitro Booster 7) Heavy Flaming Oil Jet 8) 8 x Racing Tires 9) Heavy Car Rifle 10) 5L Engine

The Great Pentagon Scavenger Hunt begins 2015-09-07 00:00. I will reset donation metrics at that time, anything donated before that will not count. This contest will run until 2015-09-21.

I thought I'd post some tips that might help out some newer players that may want to compete in this contest.

Vehicles. A 4L Phoenix with just a driver and no guns has about 50 bulk left. You can haul 5 car parts for that 50 bulk, or haul in 2 x micromissile launchers or gats and break them down in camp and you'll net 6-8 car parts plus 4 electronic parts and some scrap. I guess what I'm saying is get the best bang for your bulk!

If you can get a hold of an Osprey, they are quite roomy, even with a 5L.

BPU's are okay if you run 5LV8 or V12. They will get you killed with just a 3.2LV8.

Box Trucks are great with a 5L or larger engine. A bit tricky to drive and tip over pretty easy, though seems to land on wheels a lot.

A Box Truck with defensive weaponry doesn't allow much more than an unarmed fast BPU.

Scouts - You will need scouts. Hire new ones. A 20 scout can run pretty safely in an unarmed courier from SS to Pentagon and back. They will also train scout pretty quickly if you're making daily runs.

Tires - Offroad seems to work best around The Pentagon. Lots of sand. Chaos Canyon can play hell with Offroads.

Hope these tips help out the newer players that may want to compete. Still 13+ hours before this thing kicks off.

Wow, no takers at all, lol.

Oh well. Shutting it down, since it never got started. I'll rethink it and come back with a better contest in the near future.
