A darkly-dressed woman with platform shoes steps to a podium.

She holds up a bullhorn, backwards, and makes an announcement.

"Attention...," she starts. "Damn old-fangled tech."

The bullhorn is turned around.

"Attention all you 'crash queens and motor-babies', The Illustrious Wabbit Hole has hereby gotten a new owner. Different hangerbys, same great taste.

"If'n you had a deal with the Wabbits, stop by and let us know, we might could work something out.

"Please do note that we do appreciate you still scouting out towards the late Wabbit Hole, and we welcome any and all stoppersby and hangersout.

"On similar terms, in accordance with the late great Dorothy Wilcox's wishes, the operating name of the Load Runners will hereby be known to all as the Midnight Runners, and the new camp name will be 'Midnight Meetup'.

"As an aside, ladies and gentlemen, we want the Midnight Meetup to be a place anyone and everyone can put aside their differences and have a neat place to call 'home'. Come talk to Hattie if you need more information!"

Two men dressed in black slap star-spangled, black patches on each of her shoulders.

"We hope everything continues as normal.

"Long live the Midnight Runners. Long live the Midnight Meetup. And long live the Wabbits!", she says as she smiles out at a Wabbit standing by.

A hooded tattered youngster crawls close to her after the anounce is over.

She's missing a leg, face horribly scarred, and most joints seem to be on the loose side.
(Hard not to recognise her, Jackeline being probably the only one in Evan alive after having her head blown away -in the H.B.B.B.S.-, and a vet SS racer)

"Hi there chum, we had an informal agreement with the wabbit. Not actually an agreement, more like moral debt"

"As the wabbit/Midnight runners it's in the best location for newbie training and has helped us a lot to grow we feel somewhat grateful. So from time to time we load pu's with our leftovers and drop them there to help the camp keep running. Most of the gang has gone south now, but newbies are still around"

"Anything you need just ask"

She goes away muttering some words in a sad tone..."wabbit hole was such a nice happy name..."

“So you’re be the new boss” he growls, “Me and the boys have been flying the flag for The Hole for a while now, and we kind of got use to the place.”

“I’ve got some of those greasy monkey types working out there, so we’re be looking for a smooth hand over. Any help our lads can be giving just give a shout.”

"Chop Em Up Chun" pokes her head out of the crowd and coughs.

"Don't worry yall the Wabbits wouldn't forget any of the ole helpers. Were still night management crew at the Midnight Meatloaf so if anyone needs a hand or wants any gear from previous work, don't hesitate to holler!"

Mary jumps into a parked Buzzer and fires up the v8. "And all the best to the new regime! Call the place whatever you want just don't paint it pink for gods sake!"
