5 days of waiting, sending a Recruiter 3 out to a camp with a high fame and several recruitment boosts, and I get this jewel of Evan:

I'm not so mad at George, he's desperate for one last battle to feel the exhilarating rush of adrenaline like he did in his youth. He wants to go out in a blaze of glory, not slowly rot away. Good on you, George. I will grant you a glorious death.

I *AM* however, furious with my Recruiter 3. Idle for 28 game years, worn down, feeble, and *losing* significant skill points for the week. I get that throwing $1000 at a town tavern will pull these, but a R3 hiring the freebie with a recruitment boost? I should be putting a bullet in HIS head.

I'm beginning to suspect George is a spy for the slavers.

I was granting him his warrior's death. During a travel encounter almost back to BL, he stepped out of the vehicle, pistol and shotgun in hand, ready to face down the onrushing mass of metal and bullets. Die with honor George.

Except he immediately vanished into thin air. At first, I thought his heart gave out and he died on the spot. But no, my ganger counter said he was still out there alive, despite no longer being a passenger in the scout. A thorough search of towns, camps and foot squads revealed that he had somehow teleported back to the camp I'd hired him at. A little worse for wear, but still alive.

I suspect the same technology the slavers use to teleport victims to FL.
